Gold price skyrocketed to 102 million VND/tael

After a significant fluctuation on the morning of April 9, the domestic gold price increased sharply in the afternoon of the same day. Saigon Jewelry Company Limited listed gold rings at VND99.5 million/tael (buy) - VND101.7 million/tael (sell), an increase of VND1.6 million/tael each afternoon compared to the morning.

Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company increased by 1.6 million VND/tael (buying) and 1.7 million VND/tael (selling), to 99.5 million VND/tael (buying) - 101.9 million VND/tael (selling).

Notably, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited brought the price of plain round gold rings to 102 million VND/tael, trading at 99.9 million VND/tael (buy) - 102 million VND/tael (sell), 1.6 million VND/tael higher than the same morning each afternoon.

The price of SJC gold bars also increased sharply, trading at 99.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 101.9 million VND/tael (sell). The current price is the highest since April 4.

This morning, the price of SJC gold bars initially dropped below the 100 million VND/tael mark, then quickly increased again, to 98 million VND/tael (buy) - 100.2 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 300,000 VND/tael for buying and unchanged for selling compared to yesterday's closing price.

The price of gold rings also fluctuated similarly, then was commonly traded at 97.9-98.3 million VND/tael (buy) and 100-100.4 million VND/tael (sell), higher than the previous day by 200,000-300,000 VND/tael (buy) and 100,000 VND/tael or remained the same for sell.

Thus, compared to the end of April 8, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 2 million VND/tael (buying) and 1.7 million VND/tael (selling); the price of gold rings increased by 1.8-1.9 million VND/tael (buying) and 1.6-1.7 million VND/tael (selling).

Domestic gold prices increased sharply following developments in the international market. At the end of this afternoon, the world gold price was trading at 3,063.4 USD/ounce compared to 3,006 USD/ounce at 9:00 a.m. The converted world gold price is nearly 5 million VND/tael lower than the domestic price.
