Gasoline and oil prices continue to decrease from 3:00 p.m. on May 8 - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

Gasoline and oil prices were adjusted down by the inter-ministerial committee from 3:00 p.m. on May 8. E5RON92 gasoline price decreased by 380 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by 410 VND/liter; diesel oil price decreased by 450 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 620 VND/liter/kg, and fuel oil decreased by 660 VND/liter/kg compared to the adjustment period on May 5.

The new gasoline price adjustment announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance will be effective from 3:00 p.m. on May 8.

Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 gasoline was adjusted down by VND380/liter compared to the previous adjustment period, the new selling price is not higher than VND18,770/liter. The price of RON95-III gasoline is not higher than VND19,170/liter after decreasing by VND410/liter compared to the retail price on May 5.

In this adjustment period, the price of 0.05S diesel is not higher than 16,800 VND/liter (down 450 VND/liter compared to the current retail price); Kerosene price is not higher than 16,940 VND/liter (down 620 VND/liter compared to the current retail price). The price of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil this period also decreased by 660 VND/kg compared to the previous period, the new selling price is 15,530 VND/kg.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, the world oil market in this management period (from May 5 to May 8) is affected by major factors such as OPEC+ increasing oil production in June; US tax policy on goods of trading partners leading to concerns about economic recession; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues... The above factors have caused world oil prices to fluctuate up and down in recent days depending on the commodity, but the general trend is downward.

The average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the price adjustment period on May 5 and the adjustment period on May 8 was: 75.245 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (down 0.730 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.96%); 76.848 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (down 0.525 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.68%); 80.148 USD/barrel of kerosene (down 1.115 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.37%); 79.720 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel (down 1.183 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.46%); 427.630 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (down 12.775 USD/ton, equivalent to a decrease of 2.90%).

This is the 19th time in 2025 that gasoline prices have been adjusted. Of which, RON95 gasoline has increased 9 times and decreased 10 times, E5RON92 has increased 10 times and decreased 9 times, diesel has increased 8 times, decreased 10 times and kept the price unchanged, and fuel oil has increased 10 times and decreased 9 times.
