On the evening of June 8, information from the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province, they had just successfully rescued 5 victims who were lured to Laos to work, then controlled, threatened, abused, beaten. Forced to call their families to send ransom money with a total amount of up to 2.5 billion VND.
Among the 5 rescued victims, there are 4 men residing in Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province and 1 woman residing in M'Drak district, Dak Lak province.

Previously, the provincial Border Guard received reports from five families in Can Loc and M'Drak districts that their relatives were suspected of being tricked into laboring. Afterwards, these people were controlled, threatened, abused, and beaten at a casino in the Bo Keo Special Economic Zone (Laos).
Upon receiving the news, the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province quickly sent forces to verify and clarify the matter, and at the same time, reported to the Border Guard Command for direction.
On May 10, the Border Guard Command sent a document to the General Department of Security and the General Department of Police (under the Lao Ministry of Security) requesting coordination in rescuing the victims. It directed the Border Guard of Ha Tinh province and the Border Guards of the Vietnam-Laos border provinces to increase their forces and coordinate with Lao authorities to rescue the victims.
Currently, the rescued victims' health and mental state are relatively stable.
Authorities are completing paperwork to hand over the victims to their families as soon as possible.
