In the spirit of emulation to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party, the 20th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, for the term 2025-2030, is taking place with special significance: it both summarizes the past five years and opens up a new vision and direction for development.
This is an opportunity to reaffirm the aspiration and determination to elevate Nghe An to become a relatively prosperous province, a national growth pole, and contribute to the development and prosperity of the country.
Speaking at the Congress, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An emphasized: In the general flow of national culture, Nghe An has long been affirmed as a unique cultural sub-region, a convergence of essence, steeped in history, and fostering the noble traditional qualities of the people of Nghe An.
The hearts and souls of generations of people here have forged a unique cultural heritage, unlike any other.
The ethnic communities of Nghe An have created, preserved, and passed down a diverse and rich treasure of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, most notably the Vi and Giam folk songs - an intangible cultural heritage of humanity honored by UNESCO; and many unique architectural, artistic, historical, and cultural works.
The people of Nghe An, with their studiousness, loyalty, resilience in struggle, yet gentleness and talent in art, have contributed to creating a unique identity.
This land has given birth to famous heroes, intellectuals, and writers, such as Mai Hac De, the queen of Nôm poetry - Ho Xuan Huong, the reformer Nguyen Truong To, and the patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau… The sacred spirit of the land has also nurtured and created the heroic Nghe Tinh Soviet, along with outstanding communist fighters; most notably President Ho Chi Minh - the most brilliant embodiment of Vietnamese culture, intellect, and spirit.
These values are not only a legacy of the past, but also a source of spiritual strength for the present and for future development, fostering aspirations for Nghe An's rapid and sustainable growth.
5 key solution groups
Emphasizing the overarching viewpoint: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports are the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge," along with the motto " Decisive action, aspiration for contribution," the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province proposed five groups of solutions to preserve and promote traditional values and shape the national cultural identity in the new era in Nghe An province.
Firstly , we must put people at the center, focusing on building intelligent, studious, compassionate, and loyal people of Nghe An; people who know how to preserve their identity but are ready to integrate. From schools to the community, we need to bring the essence of Nghe An's culture into daily life, so that the younger generation can absorb, be proud of, and promote traditional culture.
The initiatives such as "teaching folk songs in schools," "local education," and organizing heritage experience spaces at museums and historical sites, which have been implemented recently, have proven that young people are not indifferent to tradition. When culture permeates their souls, they will become an important force in creating and protecting their identity in the face of international integration.
Secondly , we must preserve and promote the value of national cultural heritage, linking its preservation with the awakening of tourism potential, preventing the heritage from becoming stagnant. Investing in the preservation of historical sites, traditional craft villages, and festivals is crucial to maintaining and connecting them into experiential journeys.
Additional resources, mechanisms, and policies are needed to promote the role of artisans in practicing and transmitting the heritage. The folk songs of Ví and Giặm should continue to resonate, be preserved, restored, and transformed into unique tourism products. Night tours such as "Ví and Giặm Melodies," "Ancient Citadel Night," "Mo Te Show," "Soviet Fire," and "Lam River Sediments" should be developed to boost tourism and the night-time economy.
Building a tourism brand for Nghe An based on cultural and historical values, creating sustainable livelihoods for local communities. Developing unique cultural tourism products such as: the Lotus Village Festival, the Cua Lo River Festival, the Corn Temple Festival, the Vi Dam Folk Song Festival, and community tourism in western Nghe An. Developing tourism routes that integrate various tourism types based on themes such as: "Journey to the Source," "Heritage Route," "Footprints of Binh Ngo," etc.
Thirdly , we need to mobilize community strength and social resources. Culture belongs to the people, so we need to launch a nationwide movement to preserve heritage and encourage businesses to participate in investment.
Building a modern system of cultural and sports facilities from the provincial to the grassroots level, including large-scale multi-functional cultural and sports centers, is a solution to improve the spiritual life of the people and organize regional and national-scale events.
Fourth, Developing the cultural industry will bring Nghe An to the world. In reality, major art programs, films, and cultural and entertainment events have proven to generate enormous revenue and create a powerful ripple effect.
Therefore, the province needs to focus on encouraging all resources to invest in cultural tourism, arts, film, design, media, etc.; promoting the image of Nghe An to the world, so that culture becomes a brand, a "soft passport" for the province on the map of integration.
The year is , to promote Applying digital technology and digital transformation in the cultural sector. Building digital museums, digital libraries, 3D and 4D virtual tours of historical sites, and implementing automated audio guides in multiple languages.
Develop digital platforms to introduce Nghe An's heritage to international friends. Encourage the creation of digital content about Nghe An's culture on social media to spread traditional values to young people.
The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An also affirmed: Preserving and promoting cultural values and shaping national identity in Nghe An is both an urgent and long-term task; it is the responsibility of the entire political system, all levels and sectors, and every citizen of Nghe An.
With great effort, strong determination, and the unity of the entire society, Nghe An will become a comprehensively developed province, rich in identity, worthy of being the homeland of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, and making a positive contribution to the advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
