Vietnam Talent Awards: Honoring intelligence, aspiration and dedication for the country's future

On the evening of October 27, at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, Hanoi, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended and delivered a speech at the 18th Vietnam Talent Awards Ceremony in 2025.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Talent Awards 2025 awarded the following categories: digital technology (3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, 1 encouragement prize); medical and pharmaceutical field awarded 4 prizes; creative youth field awarded 1 prize; dedication prize 2 prizes; encouragement of learning - self-study to become talented award 5 prizes.

20-year journey of honoring Vietnamese intelligence

The Vietnam Talent Award was initiated in 2004, jointly organized by the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and VNPT Group with the initial goal of discovering and honoring talents in the field of information technology in Vietnam.

After 20 years of operation with 18 award ceremonies, the Award has attracted more than 7,500 authors and groups of authors, including more than 250 overseas Vietnamese, received more than 3,500 products and scientific works for the competition and honored more than 210 outstanding works, with over 50 products commercialized, present in the regional and international markets, contributing to supporting startups, expanding investment and development for hundreds of technology projects...

Many award-winning products have become technology unicorns and powerful startups in the Southeast Asian market; many authors have become international researchers, lecturers and experts, affirming Vietnamese intelligence on the global creative map.

In 2025 alone, in the context of the entire Party and people implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, the Vietnam Talent Awards have strongly innovated in content and organization, aiming to discover and honor talents associated with three pillars: science - technology - innovation.

Therefore, the award fields are restructured to match the national development orientation including: Digital Technology, Medicine, Creative Youth, Encouragement of Learning - Self-study to become successful and Dedication. In which, Digital Technology continues to be the "heart" of the Award, reflecting Vietnam's aspiration in the journey of creating a digital nation - digital society - safe and sustainable digital economy.

Digital Technology - The Heart of the Vietnam Talent Awards

Hosted by VNPT, the Digital Technology category of this year's Vietnam Talent Awards has the theme: "AI and Big Data - Breakthrough Technology". This year's award recognized 168 entries in this category. The authors are young people aged 16-30, including many high school students, university students and Vietnamese technology startups.

Spreading creative values ​​in the community

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man shared that over the past 20 years, the "Vietnamese Talents" Award ceremonies have connected into a series of creative research events and applied research results to life. Participating in this event were many individuals and groups, with more than 7,200 people, including professional and non-professional scientists, Vietnamese people living and working in the country and abroad, professors, doctors, farmers, and rural workers.

The most common characteristics of all the contestants are that they study regularly, work hard, study for real, take real exams, have real talent, combine study with practice, conduct scientific research and create new knowledge right in the production process, and take serving people's lives as the purpose of their activities.

Many applied projects or potential projects have reached the market of some countries such as: Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, India, UK, Italy and even countries with very high technology requirements such as Japan, USA. Many highly applicable products, with organizations awarded, have been ranked in the top 5 high-tech enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region or the top 100 typical industrial enterprises globally.

Regarding the 2025 Award, the National Assembly Chairman especially welcomed the Organizing Committee for choosing the theme "AI and Big Data - Breakthrough Technology", aiming to promote solutions applying core technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, internet of things, quantum computing, contributing directly to the construction of digital economy, digital society, ensuring data safety, network security, enhancing national governance capacity and improving service quality for people and businesses.

"These are truly learning citizens and learning units that represent the spirit of dedication, creativity and intellectual depth of our Vietnamese people," said comrade Tran Thanh Man.

The National Assembly Chairman also emphasized that the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress has oriented the country's development in the 2021 - 2030 period and requires education and training, science and technology to "Create breakthroughs in fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, develop high-quality human resources, attract and utilize talents. Promote research and transfer to strongly apply achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in all areas of social life".

This is the task that the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, ministries, departments, branches and the Organizing Committee of the "Vietnam Talents" Award need to continue to promote to attract more scientists, many people passionate about science and technology innovation, bringing new knowledge, mastering technology and creating technology. Individuals and groups receiving awards today continue to research to complete their works, have many new ideas to have more products to compete in the following years... At the same time, this is the time for young entrepreneurs and intellectuals and scientists to join hands in creating, for the bright future of our entire nation.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that ministries, branches and localities, first of all the Ministry of Education and Training, need to further promote the cause of building a learning society, developing an open education system, creating a favorable environment for everyone to study regularly, be provided with educational services and rich educational resources, meeting the diverse learning needs of the entire population.

The "Vietnamese Talents" Award is not only an event to honor outstanding individuals and groups, but also a symbol of Vietnamese intelligence, creativity and aspiration - a gathering place for people who are contributing to the journey of building a strong, prosperous and self-reliant Vietnam in the digital age.
