The ASEAN Championship will be called the ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026 after a new sponsor, with 11 of the region’s top teams competing. The 2026 edition will be the 16th edition of the biennial tournament featuring teams from the ASEAN member federations, since the inaugural edition in Singapore in 1996. 2026 will also mark the first time that Hyundai Motor Company (one of the world’s leading automakers) will sponsor the tournament.
The official draw for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026 will be held in 2026. Two play-off matches to determine the final group stage ticket will be played in a home-and-away format on June 2 and 9. The 10-team group stage will take place from July 24 to August 8, in a round-robin format across the region. The knockout rounds (home-and-away) will take place from August 15 and conclude on August 26.

We are delighted to announce the next edition of the tournament, which coincides with its 30th anniversary – a significant milestone in the tournament’s development. We look forward to celebrating the tournament’s achievements with millions of football fans in ASEAN and our new sponsor, Hyundai Motor Company, as we continue to take the tournament to the international level and strengthen its sustainable value for decades to come.”
Vietnam is the current champion of the tournament. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will soon travel to Laos to play the 5th match of the 2027 Asian Cup Final Qualifiers against Laos.
