On the evening of June 15 at Lach Tray Stadium ( Hai Phong ), the Vietnamese team defeated the Hong Kong team (China) with a score of 1-0 in a friendly match on the occasion of FIFA Days. Que Ngoc Hai was the only player to score from a penalty kick.

Facing a weaker opponent, the Hong Kong team (China) - currently ranked 147th in the world , the Vietnamese team entered the match at a fast pace to create pressure towards the opponent's goal, the attacking style of play to control the game was set by the French coach.

On the other side of the front line, Hong Kong (China) players quickly approached, making the match more intense. In the first minutes, coach Philippe Troussier's students had most of the ball control and often rotated in the opponent's field.

However, the attacking options were not yet effective, as the central coordination was limited and relied on crosses. The Vietnamese players were still unable to effectively threaten the opponent's goal in the first third of the match.

Even in the 21st minute, the Vietnamese team's defense lost focus, allowing the opposing team to quickly counterattack. Fortunately, goalkeeper Van Lam made an excellent save in a 1-on-1 situation to save Vietnam from losing.

Hong Kong (China) players took full advantage of the counter-attack opportunities. In the 28th minute, Vietnam's defense continued to play erratically, allowing Matthew Orr to receive a favorable pass and shoot powerfully, the ball fortunately hitting the post to save Vietnam from conceding a goal.

In the 35th minute, defender Helio fouled Quang Hai in the penalty area and Vietnam was awarded a penalty kick. Que Ngoc Hai successfully converted the penalty kick to open the score 1-0 for the Vietnamese team.

Immediately after that, the Vietnamese team had its first personnel change. Coach Troussier brought Truong Tien Anh onto the field to replace Ho Tan Tai.

The two teams continued to fight in the final minutes of the half. The Hong Kong (China) team created more threats but still lacked a bit of luck to bring home the equalizer (2 shots hit the crossbar). The first half also ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of Vietnam.

In the second half, the home team made three consecutive substitutions. Specifically, Thanh Binh, Van Tung and Hoang Duc gave way to Phan Tuan Tai, Dinh Thanh Binh and Hai Huy.

In the first minutes of the second half, the Vietnamese team's strikers did well, creating good chances in front of the visitors' goal. However, the goal to increase the gap still did not come.

In the 62nd minute, player Sun Ming Him suddenly rushed straight into the center of Vietnam and quickly fired a shot. However, Van Lam played with concentration to easily catch the ball in his hands.

In the following minutes, the Vietnamese team continuously created dangerous situations towards the Hong Kong (China) goal. In the 77th minute, Khuat Van Khang crossed the ball to Tuan Hai but unfortunately this player could not make the opponent's net shake.

In the final minutes of the match, both teams had some "tit for tat" situations but there were still no surprises. In the end, the match ended with a score of 1-0, in favor of the Vietnamese team.

After this match, the Vietnamese team and coach Philippe Troussier have another friendly match during the FIFA Days in June, we will meet the Syrian team at 7:30 p.m. on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium ( Nam Dinh ).
