Family is the foundation
After dinner, 4 members of Mr. Tran Minh Tuan's family, residing in Long Xuyen ward, gathered to read books. This is a habit that the family has maintained for many years. In Mr. Tuan's house, there is a small bookshelf that is enough to satisfy the passion for reading for family members. Talking about how to train the habit of reading for children, Mr. Tuan excitedly shared: "I see that reading has many benefits, helping children have healthy entertainment, practice language skills, limit exposure to electronic devices, and create moments of family bonding. Since having children, my husband and I have also trained our children to read books every day. I create a love for reading for my children so that they can see the appeal and joy of reading, from which they are more proactive in reading without having to be reminded."
Family support and parents' example are important steps in lighting the fire of love for books in children. Tran Lam Huy Minh - Tuan's son, a 4A student at Nguyen Du Primary School, Long Xuyen Ward, has loved reading since he was in 1st grade. "I love reading, and whenever I have free time, the whole family reads together. My parents often take me to the library, bookstores, and book fairs so I can choose the books I like. Thanks to reading, I learn many good things, and I feel very happy every time I finish reading a book," Huy Minh said.
From the pages of books, Huy Minh not only acquired more knowledge but also gradually formed the habit of observing, thinking and feeling. Simple, meaningful stories help him understand more about family affection, friendship and love. Huy Minh just won second prize in the 2025 National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest and second prize for sharing inspirational character feelings in the contest with the work "The Story of a Snail Who Wanted to Know Why It Was Slow".

The provincial library also organizes many activities and reading movements with diverse content and forms, attracting a large number of students to participate. Many practical activities are organized such as book introductions, experience sessions, library reading sessions, mobile library vehicles "Light of Knowledge" ... to create a useful playground, helping students have the opportunity to access books.
Attending the extracurricular experience session of grade 3 students, Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School at the Provincial Library (facility 1), we could see the joyful and bustling atmosphere here. Students filled the hall, attentively listening to the sharing and introduction of the library staff, enthusiastically answering questions about games, sightseeing, reading books and confidently telling stories. It was these close and practical activities that inspired reading, sowing the love of books for the young generation.
