Removing the "bottleneck" of the shortage of high-quality human resources

Dong Nai is entering a period of strong development with a series of key national, regional and provincial projects, especially Long Thanh International Airport, which is expected to come into operation in 2026. However, one of the biggest "bottlenecks" today is the shortage of high-quality human resources, which can hinder the socio-economic development of the locality, even though this is an area with a large concentration of young workers.

One of the main reasons for this situation is that investment in education and training is still scattered and lacking focus, leading to training facilities not keeping up with the labor use trends of enterprises, especially in high-tech and green industries. Although Dong Nai has a large number of universities, colleges and vocational training facilities, the number of facilities with real quality is still modest. That leads to the fact that schools still train in occupations that are no longer suitable for market needs, while enterprises are struggling to recruit the desired personnel.

The long-term "phase difference" between labor supply and demand has caused Dong Nai to lose many development opportunities. Most obvious is in "super" projects such as Long Thanh International Airport, where the demand for recruitment is high but it is difficult to recruit local workers because of the lack of necessary conditions. But not only the Long Thanh International Airport Project, Dong Nai is being likened to a "big construction site", bringing many job opportunities to workers. Therefore, without good preparation, Dong Nai is likely to "lose" right at home because it cannot ensure quality human resources for businesses.

To solve the shortage of high-quality human resources, Dong Nai needs to synchronously deploy many solutions, in which the role of universities and vocational colleges is very important. According to many experts, Dong Nai should focus on developing key industries such as: aviation industry, semiconductor industry, chip manufacturing and artificial intelligence, automation equipment and information technology equipment - industries where the market is in dire need of human resources. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the connection between training institutions and enterprises, focusing on building chain training models linked with startup centers and large enterprises and corporations to ensure that the training program is close to the actual needs of the labor market.

Implementing the goal of training high-quality human resources cannot lack the role of promoting cooperation between vocational training institutions and enterprises to ensure output for students; at the same time, helping training institutions have the right and effective investment...
