Hanoi organizes the first Vitamin A supplementation campaign and Micronutrient Day activities in 2025

The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 3158/UBND-KGVX on organizing the first Vitamin A supplementation campaign and implementing activities in response to Micronutrient Day 2025 in the city.

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Health in Official Dispatch No. 2908/BYT-BM-TE on organizing the first Vitamin A supplement campaign combined with deworming for children in 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee requests departments, branches and localities to focus on synchronously and effectively implementing the first Vitamin A supplement campaign on June 1 and 2, 2025, combining propaganda and communication activities within the framework of Micronutrient Day in 2025.

The Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches, sectors, organizations and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to develop plans and organize the campaign in accordance with the professional instructions of the Ministry of Health.

The Department of Health is responsible for fully stocking Vitamin A capsules for children of the right age, ensuring implementation on schedule and meeting professional requirements; at the same time, coordinating the organization of inspections and supervision of the campaign implementation in localities.

The Department of Culture and Sports coordinates with press and media agencies to promote widespread dissemination of the significance of Micronutrient Day and the Vitamin A supplementation campaign, aiming to raise public awareness of the importance of preventing and combating micronutrient deficiencies, especially in young children.

The city People's Committee also requested that mass organizations actively participate in propaganda and mobilize union members and people to respond to the campaign, bringing children to Vitamin A drinking points at the prescribed time.

The authorities of districts, towns and cities are responsible for developing specific plans and mobilizing necessary resources in terms of funding, materials and human resources to organize and implement the first phase of the Vitamin A Supplementation Campaign and Micronutrient Day activities in the locality. At the same time, they must strengthen inspection and supervision in communes, wards and towns to ensure that the campaign is carried out safely and effectively, without missing any subjects.

In addition to Vitamin A supplementation, communication activities will also focus on encouraging people to adopt a reasonable and diverse diet, use iodized salt and fortified foods, contributing to improving nutritional status and community health.
