On the morning of July 17, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the opening of the 18th session of the 16th Hai Phong City People's Council, term 2021-2026.
Speaking at the session, the National Assembly Chairman acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, National Assembly Delegation, organizations, sectors, levels and people of Hai Phong City in the first 6 months of 2024. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Hai Phong strives to overcome all difficulties and challenges, resolve bottlenecks to realize the Party's Resolution into life. In Hai Phong, from urban to rural areas, there is growing development, innovation, modern infrastructure, and expanded urban space.
Agreeing with the frank assessments of the difficulties and limitations stated in the reports of the People's Council and the People's Committee of the city, the National Assembly Chairman suggested a number of key tasks for Hai Phong's authorities and sectors to implement in the last months of the year. The first task is that Hai Phong needs to continue to effectively implement the Resolutions of the 13th National Congress of the Party, the Resolutions of the Central Committee, the Resolutions of the National Assembly, the Government, and the Resolution of the 16th Hai Phong City Party Congress.
The National Assembly Chairman noted that Hai Phong needs to quickly summarize, evaluate, research, review, and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo on building and developing Hai Phong City to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Resolution No. 35 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Hai Phong City.
The National Assembly Chairman also requested Hai Phong to focus on accelerating the progress of public investment projects, infrastructure, socio-economic projects, especially key and important projects of the city. Along with that, Hai Phong should soon submit to competent authorities for approval the Projects on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, urban government, and urban upgrading.
Highlighting the role and responsibility of leaders from the city to the grassroots in performing tasks, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized: "The spirit is to be resolute, determined, and determined to have specific products, not to shirk responsibility or avoid work; to have a spirit of innovation, to dare to think, to dare to do, to dare to take responsibility for the common interests of Hai Phong City". In particular, with the City People's Council, the National Assembly Chairman suggested continuing to improve the quality of the sessions; organizing questions and answers, organizing supervision, meeting voters... with quality with the motto "Responsibility, innovation, professionalism, efficiency".
The National Assembly Chairman stated that Hai Phong is the locality with the highest investment among the provinces and cities in the Red River Delta, and has the conditions to make a breakthrough. The National Assembly Chairman believes that the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Phong City will continue to maximize its potential, strengths and resources; reform, innovate, dare to think, dare to do, dare to make breakthroughs; not only create new momentum and development space for the locality and region, but also connect with the international market.
