Hai Phong and Yen Bai cooperate to develop human resources

(PLVN) - In addition to supporting English teaching for students in mountainous areas, Hai Phong and Yen Bai also cooperate to develop high-quality human resources.

Today, May 30, the working delegation of Hai Phong city had a working session with the Departmentof Education and Training of Yen Bai province to discuss and agree on some cooperation contents in English teaching and vocational training linkage between the two localities.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Trung Kien - Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, informed about the socio-economic development situation of Hai Phong city, in which Hai Phong has a great demand for high-quality human resources to meet the growth rate and attract investment. Hai Phong city is implementing many policies to support vocational training such as exempting tuition fees, supporting the purchase of social housing if workers commit to working locally for 5 years or more.

Mr. Kien highly appreciated the initial results of the cooperation program between Hai Phong and Yen Bai, especially in teaching English to students in remote and disadvantaged areas. At the same time, the Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board hopes that the two sides will continue to expand the scale and improve the quality of the program to create practical and sustainable effects in linking human resource development between the two localities.

According to the leaders of the Yen Bai Department of Education and Training, in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years, the Hai Phong Education sector has supported the organization of online English teaching for 14 schools in Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai districts and Nghia Lo town, with a total of nearly 3,000 lessons. Supported teaching and learning equipment for schools in the area such as televisions, computers, cameras, internet connections, books, desks and chairs and school uniforms. English teachers from Hai Phong all participated voluntarily, with high responsibility, solid expertise and rich experience in online teaching.

In the field of vocational training cooperation, vocational and continuing education institutions of Yen Bai province have signed training cooperation agreements with many large enterprises in Hai Phong. The cooperation contents include creating conditions for teachers to access new technology, organizing internships and practice at enterprises for students, supporting consulting and recruiting students after graduation; promoting the connection between schools and enterprises to train human resources according to actual needs.

During the working session, delegates from the two localities exchanged and discussed the advantages and difficulties in the implementation of cooperation programs. The two sides also proposed signing a memorandum of cooperation between vocational training institutions to enhance the effectiveness of coordination in recruitment and vocational training, promote propaganda to change learners' awareness, create a stable source of recruitment for vocational training institutions, and support access to new and modern technologies that are suitable for the development trends of the professions.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Luyen Huu Chung - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Yen Bai province, said that the cooperation with Hai Phong city has opened up opportunities for high-quality foreign language learning for students in the mountainous areas of Yen Bai. At the same time, the support of Hai Phong has created a practical direction in vocational training associated with the needs of the labor market.

The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Yen Bai province expressed his hope that in the coming time, this cooperation model will continue to be expanded, invested in depth, substantially and effectively. For occupations that Yen Bai province does not have the conditions to organize training, he requested that vocational training institutions of Hai Phong city continue to support in training and job introduction, ensuring output for students after completing the course.
