In the environmental protection strategy, the Women's Union of Quang Yen Town plays a core role, leading the community to join hands to preserve a green - clean - beautiful environment. Through practical models, the Women's Union of the town has created clear changes in the awareness and actions of members, women and people. In early 2025, the whole town has built 193 models of "Turning garbage into money", mobilizing people to participate in classifying, collecting and treating household waste. In 2024 alone, the model collected more than 115 million VND, this is a meaningful fund used by the Women's Union of the town to support members in difficulty, buy health insurance cards, contributing to spreading humane values ​​and solidarity in the community.

A bright spot in the implementation of models in Quang Yen town is the Women's Union of Lien Hoa commune, where the pilot model of "Turning trash into money" began to be implemented in September 2024. In a short time, the Women's Union of the commune has replicated 10 models in 8/8 villages, attracting the participation of a large number of people. Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Lien Hoa commune Nguyen Thi Nhan shared: Through the classification, collection and recycling of waste, female members not only directly participate in environmental protection, but also become people who inspire the community about a green, economical and responsible lifestyle. Each bag of trash is no longer meaningless, but is recycled to become a symbol of change, of specific actions towards a cleaner and more beautiful environment.

In addition to community models, the “Green Sunday” movement of the Women’s Union of Quang Yen Town also created a strong change in environmental protection work. More than 57,000 people participated in cleaning activities, cleaning the streets, contributing to creating green - clean - beautiful neighborhoods. In the business sector, Quang Ninh Cement and Construction Joint Stock Company continues to affirm its pioneering role in environmental protection through the program "Vracbank - Deposit garbage, withdraw money". Deployed since April 2022, the model quickly spread to the localities of Uong Bi, Ha Long, and Quang Yen.

Not only helping people form the habit of waste classification, Vracbank also contributes to promoting the circular economy - turning waste into resources. The program has also been effectively implemented in schools, thereby raising environmental awareness for the younger generation, building a green lifestyle right from school. As of March 31, 2025, more than 2,100 accounts have participated, collecting over 350 tons of recyclable waste, bringing in an economic value of 1.5 billion VND. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the program processed nearly 23 tons of waste, equivalent to more than 112 million VND. In parallel, the company also reuses industrial waste such as plastic and scraps in cement production, helping to save 10-15% of coal and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Vracbank is not only an effective waste management model, but also a symbol of the effort to green production, spreading the awareness of sustainable living in the community. With specific actions, Quang Ninh Cement and Construction Joint Stock Company has been actively contributing to the journey for a green - clean - beautiful planet.

Thanks to the efforts of organizations and businesses, the environmental quality in the province has been significantly improved, especially the air and water environment in many key areas such as Ha Long, Cam Pha, and Van Don. The automatic monitoring system has been invested synchronously to help monitor and control pollution in a timely manner. The soil environment has not recorded signs of pollution exceeding standards. Waste management has been promoted with a domestic waste collection rate of over 98.8%, while promoting waste treatment by incineration technology and co-processing in the cement industry. Hazardous waste, medical waste and pesticide packaging are all collected and treated in accordance with regulations.

The model "Vracbank - Deposit trash, withdraw money" attracted a large number of officers and workers of Quang Ninh Cement and Construction Joint Stock Company to participate.

The province has completed policies and plans to protect natural heritage and biodiversity such as Ha Long Bay, new conservation areas such as Dong Rui - Tien Yen, Co To - Tran Island, Quang Nam Chau. Activities to regenerate aquatic resources and prevent illegal fishing (IUU) are also effectively controlled.

Communication, propaganda and environmental education work continues to be promoted with many community models, such as "For a green Ha Long", environmental volunteer clubs, 100% of villages, hamlets and neighborhoods have included environmental protection in local covenants and regulations.

In 2025, Quang Ninh will continue to respond to global environmental campaigns such as Earth Hour, Earth Day, World Environment Day, etc. With a focus on raising public awareness of waste classification at source and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the province is increasing investment in green technology, developing water and waste treatment infrastructure, and promoting clean energy conversion and circular economy. With specific strategies and actions, Quang Ninh is moving towards a green, clean, and sustainable future.
