On February 3rd, representatives from the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Union stated that most businesses in the area have resumed operations, with only a few remaining that will officially reopen tomorrow or the day after.
According to initial statistics, over 83% of workers in businesses have returned to work, and this number is expected to increase in the coming days.
According to Tuoi Tre Online 's investigation, many large businesses started operations on the 6th day of the first lunar month, especially shoe manufacturing businesses with a large workforce, with a very high rate of workers returning to work.
Mr. Le Nhat Truong, chairman of the trade union of Pousung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Bau Xeo Industrial Park, Trang Bom district), said that 91.6% of the 18,000 workers had returned to the factory to work on the first day of the new year.
The majority of workers who have not returned to work are those on maternity leave or who had previously requested additional leave (with permission). Therefore, the company's production activities have not been affected and have almost returned to normal.
According to Mr. Truong, this year's order situation remains stable and is projected to be "brighter" than in previous years. Even before the Tet holiday, there was overtime work, providing workers with additional income.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dang Tuan Tu, chairman of the trade union of Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vinh Cuu district), said that on the first day of the company's reopening, 88% of the total 38,500 workers returned to work.
On the first day of production, the company held a welcoming ceremony for workers returning to work, a New Year's meeting, and distributed lucky red envelopes to the entire company. It is estimated that Changshin spent a total of 7.7 billion VND on New Year's gifts for its workers.
This is an annual activity of the company on New Year's Day aimed at motivating and encouraging all workers to remain committed to the business and strive for production to promote the company's development.
Donated over 80,000 gifts to struggling workers.
As part of the activities to care for workers during Tet (Lunar New Year), trade unions at all levels in Dong Nai province have donated more than 80,000 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances (each gift worth 1 million VND).
In addition, the trade union also organized visits and presented gifts to nearly 3,000 workers in difficult circumstances, those who suffered work-related accidents, those with reduced working capacity, or those suffering from serious illnesses.
In addition, the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Union provided 1,000 free train tickets to disadvantaged, long-term workers who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet (Lunar New Year) and reunite with their families, with a total value of over 2.1 billion VND.
In addition, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also provided 350 round-trip train tickets and 92 airplane tickets for union members, workers, and their relatives to return home for Tet.
