“Cong Phuong was called up for the first time but unfortunately suffered an injury and had to leave the team. This is a big loss because his experience is very useful for the match against Malaysia. However, with the remaining 23 players, the whole team will continue to improve their playing style and prepare best for the upcoming match against Malaysia,” coach Kim Sang-sik said about Cong Phuong.

As reported by Tri Thuc - Znews , Cong Phuong suffered a ruptured fatty tissue in the sole of his foot and needed 2 weeks to recover, so he left the Vietnam team on June 3. To ensure personnel and preparation plans for the match with Malaysia, the Korean strategist promoted young striker Nguyen Quoc Viet from U22 Vietnam.

When asked about Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, coach Kim Sang-sik praised the new player of the Vietnamese team. He and his assistants will exploit the full potential of the player from CAHN. “Quang Vinh can play in many positions, from left center back, full back to winger. His presence helps the team's tactics become more flexible. I will continue to analyze to make the most of Quang Vinh's strengths as well as other players," coach Kim Sang-sik continued.

The match against Malaysia will take place on June 10. That means the Vietnamese team only has 6 days to prepare. Before the information about the confrontation between the two teams, coach Kim Sang-sik said that Malaysia's inability to beat Vietnam for over 10 years is quite special. Malaysia, like Thailand, is a long-standing opponent of the Vietnamese team. He said that this result comes from the careful preparation of all departments, from the coaching staff to the players.

“Malaysia has about 8-10 new naturalized players compared to the last tournament. This makes it difficult for us to analyze our opponents' tactics. However, we will continue to monitor and analyze to have the best preparation. The players are all trying their best to be ready for the away match on June 10," he commented about Malaysia.

In addition, coach Kim Sang-sik always believes that the players will unite and strive to overcome challenges. The 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers take place in a round-robin format, and victory is always the highest goal of the Vietnamese team.

Like coach Kim Sang-sik, captain Duy Manh also showed great determination. "Before the match against Malaysia, my teammates and I were determined to achieve the best result. It will not be an easy match at Bukit Jalil Stadium, but we will promote the strength of solidarity, follow the strategy from the coaching staff, and prepare carefully for a successful match," Duy Manh shared.

According to the plan, the Vietnam team will have an internal friendly match with U22 Vietnam on the afternoon of June 4. On June 6, the whole team will move to Malaysia to prepare for the official match.
