On October 7, Coach Troussier announced the list of 28 names that will join the Vietnamese team to prepare for a series of friendly matches in October.
This squad is a combination of familiar players such as Tuan Anh, Van Toan, Quang Hai, Que Ngoc Hai or Hoang Duc with young talents promoted from the U23 team.
Hoang Duc is one of three people chosen by coach Troussier to be the captain of the Vietnam team.
After that, the French strategist also chose 3 captains for the Vietnam team, including: Que Ngoc Hai, Hung Dung and Hoang Duc.
The three names mentioned above will take turns wearing the captain's armband for the Vietnamese team in the matches against China (October 10), Uzbekistan (October 13) and South Korea (October 17).

Besides, the Korean strategist will take two more players to be vice-captains.
But since taking over, coach Troussier has often chosen a group of captains and these names will take turns wearing the captain's armband.
At 2:30 a.m. on October 8, the Vietnamese team left for China for friendly matches.
At 7:00 p.m. the same day, the whole team will begin practicing to prepare for the match with the Chinese team.
