Support of more than 1.7 billion VND to help people in Bao Thang, Bac Ha overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi)

Cash distribution to people affected by natural disasters.

Implementing Plan No. 61 dated December 27, 2024 of the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross Society on the implementation of the Project "Supporting multi-purpose cash distribution for people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) and post-storm circulation" funded by the Coca-Cola Fund as a non-refundable aid, the Lao Cai Provincial Project Management Board coordinated with the Red Cross Society of Bao Thang and Bac Ha districts to compile a list, hold village meetings to review and approve the list of beneficiaries of the project in 3 communes: Phong Nien, Bao Thang district; Nam Det and Coc Ly, Bac Ha district; the total amount is 1 billion 480 million VND. This amount has been directly distributed to 503 households affected by flooding, landslides, damage to houses and crops due to storm circulation No. 3.

Giving gifts to people and students in the project area.

During the cash distribution sessions, the Project “Supporting multi-purpose cash distribution for people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi ) and post-storm circulation” also distributed 5,414 bars of soap and 1,500 leaflets with propaganda content on clean water, hygiene and disease prevention and control. The above activities support knowledge on disease prevention and control and maintaining personal hygiene for staff, teachers, students at 4 high schools and households in the project-benefiting areas.

Distribute leaflets to educate people about environmental sanitation.

In addition, the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross Society, the Bac Ha and Bao Thang District Red Cross Society presented 88 gifts including cash, cakes, candies, milk, new clothes... worth 45 million VND.

With a total support budget of more than 1.7 billion VND, the project "Supporting multi-purpose cash distribution for people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) and post-storm circulation" funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation has partly supported people to rebuild their lives; improve knowledge about disease prevention and control and maintain personal hygiene.
