The flower of the wild rice plant symbolizes a prosperous harvest, luck and completeness in life. Coming to Fansipan at this time, visitors have the opportunity to explore the brilliant orange color of the wild rice flower carpets planted on terraces, spread across the mountain slopes.

From every angle, the color of the flowers stands out against the sky and the deep green Fansipan mountains. In the cool and fresh autumn weather, thousands of people flock to Sa Pa, especially on weekends, to admire the brilliant picture of flowers.

Going to Fansipan with friends to enjoy the holiday before the new school year, Hoai Anh, who lives in Hanoi , said: “It only takes a few hours from Hanoi to Sa Pa, the weather is pleasant, and we were lucky enough to hunt for the sea of clouds. The scenery from the top of Fansipan and the sea of pearl flowers is so beautiful that no words can fully describe it. This trip was really impressive, I think everyone should try to come here once.”

The activity of pounding rice cake attracts many tourists to participate.

Amidst the space filled with orange and yellow, the 2024 Don Thoc Flower Festival is even more bustling and attractive with a series of cultural activities and folk games bearing the mark of the Northwest region. The sea of Don Thoc flowers has become the stage for the flower flute dances of the H'Mong people or the joyful drum performance of the Red Dao people.

During the festival, visitors from 9 Northwestern provinces (including Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien and Tuyen Quang) will receive up to 50% discount on cable car tickets to the top of Fansipan.

Right in front of Bich Van Thien Tu, hundreds of tourists were enjoying the bamboo dance. Tourists were also excited to check in at the blooming flower fields along the way to Fansipan peak, experience culinary activities such as pounding sticky rice cakes, making five-color sticky rice, etc. and participate in entertainment programs, exploring the traditions of local ethnic groups.

“I will definitely remember the feeling of pounding rice cakes at an altitude of 3,143m. Being able to chat, eat cakes, and watch the mountains in this cold weather is truly wonderful,” Duc Trung from Thai Nguyen shared.
