During his visit to Thailand, on December 14th, Party Central Committee Secretary and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung held a working meeting with Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow.

Both sides affirmed the importance of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries; agreed to continue to strengthen political trust, enhance contacts between ministries, sectors, and localities; and effectively promote the results of the 4th Vietnam-Thailand Joint Cabinet Meeting…

Assessing that economic , trade, and investment cooperation continues to be a pillar in bilateral relations, the two ministers agreed to continue striving to soon achieve the target of $25 billion in bilateral trade; and to encourage businesses from both countries to expand investment in each other's countries...

Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed concern over the complex developments along the Thailand-Cambodia border; he called on all parties to exercise restraint, prevent escalating tensions, and resolve disagreements through peaceful means, dialogue, in accordance with international law and existing regional agreements and mechanisms.

On this occasion, Minister Le Hoai Trung visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand.
