Tet At Ty 2025 is approaching, people's shopping needs are increasing. Accordingly, supermarkets, stores, distributors, traditional markets are stocking many types of essential goods... Supermarkets are implementing promotional programs to stimulate consumption. Goods sold at the markets are very rich and diverse.

Ms. Phan Thu Thao - a vendor at Hoi An market said: "In the past few days, I have sold a lot of rice, sticky rice, fruit trays, altar decorations, spices... People's purchasing power this year is higher than the same period last year."

According to Ms. Do Thi Hien - Head of Trade Management Department (Department of Industry and Trade), along with traditional trade activities, e-commerce has been born and made its mark in the province.

E-commerce activities have supported producers to boost product consumption on e-commerce platforms, avoiding product congestion during harvest season, helping people maintain agricultural product prices, and avoiding dependence on traders and intermediaries.

E-commerce has provided consumers with useful information about the market and consumer trends, making it convenient to shop for goods.

Mr. Le Vu Thuong - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that in recent times, the industry and trade sector has focused on linking production, circulation and supply of goods. This model helps people shift from traditional production to production of goods linked to the market. Linking production, circulation and supply of goods has increased income for businesses, cooperatives and farmers.

“The Department of Industry and Trade has implemented trade promotion programs such as “Proud of Vietnamese products” and “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese products”. The program to connect supply and demand, consume agricultural products, and trade goods is implemented through fairs in all provinces and cities nationwide. The industry and trade sector supports and consults businesses and people to grasp market information, connect trade, and open up the market,” said Mr. Thuong.

Create a development boost

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, Quang Nam's commercial activities are facing many difficulties. The number of businesses calling for commercial investment has not yet met expectations.

The disruption and broken supply chain have made it difficult for businesses to get new orders, the consumer market has shrunk, production costs have increased, and export orders have decreased. The infrastructure for non-cash payments is unevenly distributed, especially in mountainous areas, which is still very limited.

Quang Nam is facing difficulties in transforming the market management model. The human resources for state management of e-commerce are still limited, most of the management activities are part-time. The funding source for investment in e-commerce development is still low, not meeting the increasing demand of the market.

To create a strong impetus for trade development in the coming time, Mr. Le Vu Thuong said that it is necessary to mobilize investment resources to complete trade infrastructure. The industry and trade sector will effectively exploit invested trade works; promote trade in new urban areas.

The Department of Industry and Trade accelerates the promotion and introduction of goods on the province's e-commerce trading floor; connects online sales channels; supports businesses in the province to participate in conferences and forums on international cooperation, programs to disseminate free trade agreements, and connects trade with domestic and foreign partners to export goods.

“The industry and trade sector coordinates with provincial agencies to focus on attracting commercial investment; guiding, urging, and removing difficulties for investors so that commercial projects can come into operation,” said Mr. Thuong.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh said that Resolution No. 13 dated July 20, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing Quang Nam trade to 2025, with a vision to 2030, is the basis for the industry and trade sector to synchronously deploy solutions for sustainable trade development in the province.

The industry and trade sector focuses on in-depth research on actual conditions in markets to guide localities and market management boards to effectively transform management models.

The Department of Industry and Trade needs to promote connectivity in the supply chain of goods; control the market, fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods of unknown origin.

The industry and trade sector supports the promotion of goods consumption through trade promotion activities, supports the development of e-commerce, and connects supply and demand of mountainous products according to Resolution No. 12 of the Provincial Party Committee on socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Along with that, attracting investment in important projects in the western region contributes to the development of trade in the province as well as mountainous districts.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in 2024 is estimated to reach nearly 72.6 trillion VND (up 7.4% over the same period in 2023). The Department of Industry and Trade sets a target of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in 2025 of 93,150 billion VND (up 15% over the same period in 2024).
