On the morning of November 6, the Gia Lai Department of Education and Training issued a document proactively allowing students to stay home from school to prevent and avoid storm Kalmaegi.
Previously, on November 5, to ensure the safety of students, staff, teachers and employees, all educational institutions in 58 communes and wards in the east of Gia Lai province (Binh Dinh province before the merger) proactively let students take a day off from the afternoon of November 5 to the end of November 7 to prevent and avoid the storm.
All educational establishments in 77 communes and wards in the west of Gia Lai province (Gia Lai province before the merger) proactively let students stay home from school if the rain, flood, and storm situation becomes complicated.
By the morning of November 6, due to the complicated developments of storm Kalmaegi, the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai requested the heads of educational institutions in the communes/wards of the old districts of Gia Lai before the merger, including: Mang Yang, Dak Doa, Chu Pah, Ia Grai, Chu Se, Chu Puh, Chu Prong, Duc Co, Pleiku City to urgently let students stay home from school from the afternoon of November 6 until further notice to proactively prevent and avoid the storm.
