First grader was beaten by teacher and left bruised

On October 16, Ms. Vo Dao Hoa, Principal of Ba Dinh Primary School (Ba Dinh Ward, Bim Son Town, Thanh Hoa ) confirmed that the incident of a female teacher beating a first grade student, causing bruises, that happened at the school, was true.

According to Ms. Hoa, during the afternoon class on Thursday (October 10 - PV), teacher VTT, the homeroom teacher of class 1B of the school, used her hand to hit TPN (student of class 1B) on the back many times and pinched her ear.

On October 11, the parents took N. to school to report the incident and asked the school to clarify the teacher VTT's act of beating the student.

Ms. Hoa said that Ms. T. admitted to hitting student N. with her hand, causing bruises. When talking to the school's Board of Directors, Ms. T. said she did not understand why she did that. Since the afternoon of October 11, the school has assigned Ms. T. to other work pending the results of the police's verification.

"On the school's side, we have determined that Ms. T. beat a student. We have also reported the incident to the Department of Education and Training of Bim Son Town. Our stance is to strictly handle Ms. T.'s violation of teacher ethics," said Ms. Hoa.

Talking to Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. T.D.H (father of student TPN), said that N. was beaten by the teacher, causing bruises on his back, and pinched on his ear. As of October 16, N.'s bruises had not yet healed.

"The family took the child to the hospital for examination and also submitted a petition to the Ba Dinh Ward Police Department requesting clarification and strict handling of the teacher's behavior. Now the family is waiting for the authorities to resolve and handle the violator's responsibility. The family also requested and the school agreed to transfer the child to another class. Today (October 16 - PV) the child went to school as usual," said Mr. H.

Notably, this is not the first time teacher VTT has beaten a student. In the 2023-2024 school year, teacher T. also beat a first grader. But that time, she was only warned, learned her lesson, and then continued to be assigned to teach normally by the school.
