On the evening of November 6, the People's Committees of wards in the Da Lat area announced that students would be off school.
Specifically, the People's Committees of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat, Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat, Cam Ly Ward - Da Lat and Lang Biang Ward - Da Lat announced that students of all levels will be off school on November 7 to proactively respond to storm Kalmaegi (storm No. 13).
Schools are required to remind students to take shelter and not move during unusual weather conditions.
Also on the evening of November 6, Da Lat University issued a notice to close the school on November 7, switching all activities to remote working and online teaching to ensure safety against the risk of heavy rain and strong winds when the storm makes landfall.
Previously, Director of the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Lien said that the department had given the People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and educational institutions the initiative to decide to temporarily suspend school in dangerous areas according to the storm's developments. The suspension will be arranged to make up for the absence when conditions stabilize.
The Department of Education and Training requires the suspension of all extracurricular activities, tours, picnics and outdoor events during storms; paying special attention to areas at risk of deep flooding, landslides and gusts of wind. For schools with boarding students, units must prepare backup plans for electricity, water, medicine and essential food to ensure daily safety.
