Quan Thang Ancient House is a special relic in Hoi An ancient town, with intact historical and cultural values, especially architectural art, contributing to clearly reflecting the development history of the urban - commercial port of Hoi An. This place was originally a prosperous and famous trading house in Hoi An.
In 1997, Quan Thang ancient house became one of the first tourist attractions in the old quarter.
After a long period of severe degradation, in 2016, the project to restore the Quan Thang ancient house relic was implemented with 60% of the State budget support, the remaining 40% from the relic owner's contribution.
The coordination in completing the restoration project of Quan Thang ancient house is considered a model for the participation of private resources and the efforts of local authorities in preserving the values of the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An ancient town.
The registration of Quan Thang ancient house for the award is a good opportunity for the preservation of Hoi An cultural heritage to be recognized and honored by UNESCO; at the same time, it contributes to promoting the image of Hoi An heritage to friends around the world.
