Vietnam Red Cross Society provides emergency relief to flood victims in Nghe An

Faced with serious damage caused by floods and rains following storm No. 3 (Wipha) in Nghe An province, on July 24, the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee decided to deploy emergency relief activities to promptly support affected households.

The Central Committee of the Association has decided to provide emergency support to people in flood-affected areas with a total budget of nearly 650 million VND, including: 200 million VND in cash to help families with deaths, injuries, and severe damage to houses, livelihoods, and food; 300 boxes of household goods (including essential necessities) from a warehouse in Hanoi ; 470 boxes of P&G water purifier powder (equivalent to 112,800 packages, worth more than 100 million VND) sponsored by P&G Global through the "Clean Drinking Water for the Community" Project to support the temporary clean water needs for 7 days for about 4,000 households in 12 severely flooded communes.

The Central Association's relief delegation, led by the Central Association's Standing Committee, including officers from the Social Work - Disaster Management Board, the Health Care Board, Humanitarian Television reporters, etc., will directly go to localities to visit, encourage and give gifts to severely affected households.

Along with the relief work, the Central Committee also directed specialized units to coordinate closely to ensure quick implementation, to the right subjects, and to the right needs.
