After three days and three nights of soaking in the cold, murky, and fast-flowing water, officers and soldiers of the 574th Armored Brigade (Military Region 5) drove nearly 600 piles, poured hundreds of cubic meters of rock, and successfully reinforced the dike line, preventing floodwater from the Ly Ly River from overflowing and causing damage to households in Dong Tram village (Xuan Phu, Da Nang ).

Although they have proactively stocked up on instant noodles, dry food, and drinking water, after many days of being isolated and surrounded by floodwaters, many households living along both banks of the Ly Ly River have run out of food and drink. In this situation, from October 27 to now, the unit has sent 6 military feeding teams to heavily damaged areas to coordinate with other forces to organize field kitchens, cook rice, braise meat, stir-fry vegetables, then pack them in boxes and transport them to the flooded areas to supply people. The meals are all carefully packaged, and if necessary, they can be left floating on the water. From products of increased production, livestock farming, and jars of rice for the poor, the unit has harvested, provided, and supported kitchens with nearly a ton of vegetables, tubers, and fruits, more than 600 chicken and duck eggs, and 185 kg of meat and fish, with a total value of tens of millions of VND.
After three days of being completely isolated and cut off from the outside world by flash floods and landslides, since the night of October 28, thanks to the timely support and assistance of the 574th Information Brigade (Military Region 5) and the reconnaissance teams of the Defense Command of Area 3 - Tra My (Da Nang City Military Command), hundreds of households in villages 2, 3, 4, 5, Tra Leng commune have been able to connect by phone with local Party committees, authorities and functional forces.
According to information provided by the people, currently, families still have enough food and provisions for daily activities and meals in the coming days, but many cases of coughs, colds and mild fevers have no medicine to treat them. In this situation, Colonel Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, Head of the forward command of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue of Military Region 5 in Tra My, directed the military medical unit to "consult online" and ordered UAV teams to take off, transport, and supply bandages and medicine to isolated areas for the people. With the forecast of complicated rain and floods, on October 30, hundreds of boxes of instant noodles and dry food were also delivered to the people by soldiers through flood-flying planes and soldiers' backpacks "cutting through the forest" to supply people in flooded areas.

On the flood peak of Hoi An, Cua Dai, Dien Ban, Hoa Xuan, Hoa Tien (Da Nang); Son Tay Thuong, Ba Vinh, Tay Tra Bong, Son Linh, Dak Plo ( Quang Ngai ); implementing the direction of Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Commander of Military Region 5, over the past three days, despite heavy rain and rising floodwaters, soldiers and militia have transported dozens of tons of dry food, instant noodles, bread, and medicine to the people.
On the turbulent Ve, Tra Khuc, Ly Ly, Thu Bon, and Vu Gia rivers, rescue canoes bearing the inscription Military Region 5's Armed Forces continuously entered and exited. When entering, the soldiers carried food and medicine, and when leaving, they prioritized the evacuation of the elderly, children, and pregnant women. With a noble humanitarian gesture, caring for the people as if caring for themselves, officers and soldiers of agencies and units also arranged barracks and accommodations to welcome thousands of people to evacuate and avoid the flood. All cases of illness were examined, prescribed, and promptly given medicine by military doctors. Families whose relatives passed away, went missing, or had accidents in storms and floods were encouraged, visited, and helped wholeheartedly and thoughtfully by soldiers.

To step up rescue work, and help people, on October 30, Military Region 5 continued to send many working groups led by the Commander, Political Commissar, and Head of the Military Region Command to the flood peak to grasp the situation and promptly direct forces to deploy plans to help people.
The main units, with sufficient troops of Military Region 5, are always ready to launch support and help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods right after the water recedes. In the midst of the vast sea of water, the army, militia, and functional forces are truly a solid "wall" to shelter and protect the people.
