Talks between the Organizing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and the Organizing Committee of Salavan Province

Today, May 30, within the framework of the meeting between the Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee (Vietnam) and the Organizing Committee of Salavan Province (Laos), the delegation of the Organizing Committee of Salavan Province led by Head of the Organizing Committee of Salavan Province Ven Phet Lat Da Vong paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Quang Tri Province. At the meeting, Head of the Organizing Committee of Salavan province Ven Phet Lat Da Vong reported an overview of the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation, Party building work of Salavan province in the past time as well as the plan to carry out the province's tasks in the coming time.

After this working trip, the Organizing Committee of Salavan province continued to promote the propaganda work about the special close relationship between Vietnam and Laos in general and Salavan and Quang Tri provinces in particular to the people, especially the young generation of Salavan province.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province Nguyen Dang Quang said that recently, through the cooperation program between the two committees, the Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee has advised the Provincial Party Committee to lead the implementation of Party building work well, especially in the field of political theory training for Salavan provincial officials at Le Duan Political School.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang highly appreciated the cooperation activities between the two organizing committees of Quang Tri and Salavan provinces, thereby suggesting that the two committees continue to exchange experiences in Party building work in general and Party building organization work in particular to deploy appropriately for each province in the coming time.

On the same afternoon, in Dong Ha City, a meeting took place between the Organizing Committees of Quang Tri and Salavan provinces. Head of the Organizing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Phung and Head of the Organizing Committee of Salavan Province Ven Phet Lat Da Vong chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the two sides informed about some highlights of the socio-economic situation, national defense and security of each province as well as the results of Party building and organization work; the results of implementing the memorandum of understanding dated June 6, 2022 between the two committees.

Accordingly, implementing the signed memorandum of understanding, in March 2023 and March 2024, Quang Tri province organized the opening of the 12th and 13th courses to train intermediate political theory for cadres of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces with 50 students; in July 2024, Quang Tri province enrolled the first course to train leaders and managers for Salavan and Savannakhet provinces with 40 students.

The Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee advised the Quang Tri Provincial People's Council to continue providing funding to train Lao students majoring in information technology at Quang Tri Pedagogical College with 10 students and will recruit 26 more students at the end of the year; creating conditions to train students majoring in nursing and pharmacy at Quang Tri Medical College.

At the end of the talks, the two sides agreed on many important contents, including maintaining visits and working sessions to strengthen coordination in the field of Party building and organization to become increasingly practical and effective.

Continue to coordinate to effectively carry out political theory training for Salavan province officials. Strengthen propaganda work, raise awareness of the importance and historical significance of the special Vietnam - Laos relationship among officials, party members, people, especially the young generation of the two provinces, two countries...

During the working trip to Quang Tri, the delegation of the Salavan Provincial Organizing Committee visited Le Duan Political School. Head of the Salavan Provincial Organizing Committee Ven Phet Lat Da Vong thanked the school's leaders and lecturers for their love and highest responsibility in training political theory for Salavan provincial cadres in the past and present.

Most of the cadres who studied at Le Duan Political School after returning home were appointed to higher positions in party and state agencies and applied the knowledge and skills they learned to perform well their assigned tasks.
