The 15th Conference of Reporters of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025

This morning, October 24, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department held the 15th Provincial Party Committee reporters' conference, term 2020-2025.

At the conference, leaders of the Provincial Population Department informed about the topic of population aging and elderly health care to adapt to population aging.

Accordingly, the characteristics of the elderly in Vietnam are that they mainly live in rural areas; mainly live with their children and grandchildren; the majority of the elderly are female; the material life of the elderly is still difficult; and the health of the elderly is limited.

Some goals and solutions to adapt to population aging by 2030 include perfecting policies and laws on protection, care and promotion of the role of the elderly; encouraging the elderly to participate in socio -economic activities; building an environment friendly to the elderly; reviewing and perfecting policies and regimes for elderly care at home, in the community, and in centralized care facilities; policies to encourage private and business investment in developing elderly care facilities; caring for and improving the health of the elderly to ensure adaptation to population aging...

Leaders of the Provincial Border Guard Command informed about the general situation of the Vietnam - Laos land border; advantages and difficulties in the practical management and protection of the Vietnam - Laos land border in Quang Tri province.

Accordingly, the border of Quang Tri province is adjacent to the two provinces of Salavan and Savannakhet of Laos. Clearly defining the role as the main and core force in protecting national sovereignty and border security, in recent years, the Quang Tri Border Guard has done a good job of managing and protecting the Vietnam - Laos land border in Quang Tri province; constantly tightening the good friendship between Vietnam and Laos. The cooperation and coordination efforts between the Quang Tri Border Guard with local authorities and functional forces on both sides of the Vietnam - Laos border have been effective in managing and protecting the Vietnam - Laos land border in Quang Tri province.

The conference listened to Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Quoc Khanh's orientation for propaganda work in the coming time such as: Results of some important foreign affairs activities of Party and State leaders in recent times; on major, key topics from now until the 14th National Congress of the Party; on the socio-economic situation.
