More than 176,000 customers in Da Nang lost power due to heavy rain and flooding.

DNO - Prolonged heavy rain has caused many power grid problems in the city. As of 5 p.m. on October 27, 176,812 customers (20.2% of the total 876,552 customers) in the city were affected by heavy rain.

Da Nang Electricity Company said that the medium and low voltage grid (35kV, 22kV and 0.4kV) in the area was severely affected by heavy rain, flooding and landslides.

Specifically, there have been 83 incidents and power outages in total. Of these, there were 25 actual incidents and 58 proactive power outages to deal with trees falling on power lines and the risk of safety for people and electrical equipment due to flooding.

The cumulative number of transformer stations without power is 1,638 stations, accounting for 15.9% of the total 10,277 transformer stations in the whole city. The estimated largest power loss capacity is 19.58 MW; the estimated total power output that cannot be supplied to customers is about 145,365kWh.

Da Nang Electricity Company said it is closely monitoring the flood situation to maintain power cuts and ensure maximum electrical safety. At the same time, it is fully preparing human resources, materials, equipment, vehicles, tools and instruments to be ready for the restoration phase. As soon as safety conditions allow and the water recedes, the unit will quickly deploy inspections of power lines and transformer stations to restore power to customers as soon as possible.
