According to local residents, at around 4am, they heard a loud explosion and the ground shook. When they ran outside, they discovered that the two houses of Ho Van Linh and Ho Van Len were buried under a layer of rocks and soil.
Fortunately, before that, Tra Leng commune authorities realized the danger and proactively evacuated people from the dangerous area, so there were no human casualties.

Mr. Chau Minh Nghia, Chairman of Tra Leng Commune People's Committee, said that for many days now, Mr. Ho Van Linh has been a member of the Commune Civil Defense Command, directing and participating with the militia force to help people prevent storms and floods.
On the morning of October 28, the commune's shock force approached the scene and moved the remaining assets to a safe location.
Tra Leng commune authorities quickly visited, encouraged, and provided initial support to help Mr. Linh and other affected households overcome difficulties soon.
The Tra Leng Commune People's Committee headquarters was seriously threatened with landslides. On the night of October 27, the local government mobilized staff and forces to move all machinery and assets to temporarily store them at a resident's house in a high place.

As of the morning of October 28, the entire Tra Leng commune had 43 households whose houses were affected by floods. Of these, 6 houses were completely collapsed; 37 houses had their roofs blown off and damaged by rocks and soil from the landslide.
Previously, the authorities evacuated 265 people to safe locations at schools, village cultural houses and households.
At the same time, a working group was established to access Tra Leng commune (old), where about 658 households are isolated.
In addition, the DH1 and DH2 routes going into Tra Leng commune (old) had many landslides with an estimated landslide volume of about 3,000m 3 . Traffic routes to residential areas had many landslides, with an initial estimate of about 3,500m 3 ; the Leng River rose high, the water flowed rapidly, causing the embankment at Tra Leng 2 Primary School to be eroded and damaged...
Currently, in Tra Leng commune, there is continued heavy rain. Local authorities are conducting a comprehensive survey and planning to evacuate people and students from dangerous areas.
