According to initial information, due to continuous heavy rain in recent days, the layer of soil and rock on the mountain has collapsed onto the road under construction, making it impossible for vehicles to pass through this location.
Immediately after the incident, the People's Committee of Phan Son commune mobilized police and military forces to coordinate with the construction unit to deploy measures to overcome the incident. By about 6:00 p.m. this afternoon, the incident had basically been resolved, and vehicles were able to slowly move through the landslide site again in both directions.
Previously, on the evening of October 27, due to prolonged heavy rain, a landslide occurred at Km45+500 of National Highway 28B, passing through Dai Ninh Pass, Phan Son Commune, Lam Dong Province. A large amount of soil, rocks and grass fell down, covering the road surface, stretching for about 30 meters. Cars and motorbikes could not pass through the landslide site and had to queue up.
The Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province, together with Project Management Board No. 5 - Vietnam Road Administration, police, militia of Phan Son and Ta Hine communes, and vehicles cleared rocks and soil to overcome the landslide. By dawn on October 28, traffic was able to return to normal.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next few days, there will be more heavy rains over a large area, and the risk of landslides will continue to be complicated. Drivers traveling on mountain passes through Lam Dong province need to be more vigilant to ensure safety.
