More than 200 meals of charity to support drivers and passengers stuck on Lo Xo Pass

DNO - On the afternoon of October 27, after traveling more than 30km, Mr. Ly Minh Tam and his wife, owners of a restaurant in Kham Duc commune, brought more than 200 free meals and mineral water to drivers and passengers stuck on Lo Xo Pass due to landslides.

Heavy rains that have lasted for many days have caused hundreds of large and small landslides on the Ho Chi Minh Highway through the communes of Ben Giang, Kham Duc, and Phuoc Nang. Hundreds of people were stuck in the middle of the road for hours in the incessant rain waiting for authorities to clear the road.

Sharing the difficult situation of the drivers and passengers, Mr. Ly Minh Tam and his wife mobilized family members and staff to cook more than 200 free meals.

Receiving hot meals, full of love in difficult times, many drivers and passengers could not contain their emotions.

Driver Tran Thanh Tuan shared: “We have been stuck here for 2 days. Luckily, the people have been provided with a lot of dry food, instant noodles, and now we have these meals. Thank you to the restaurant owners and all the benefactors who have supported us during this difficult time.”

Mr. Ly Minh Tam, a restaurant owner in Kham Duc commune, shared: “Seeing people stuck due to landslides, my family is very worried. We try to cook as many meals as possible and distribute necessary necessities. If the route is open for a long time, my family will continue to support those in need. People can contact the traffic police and local authorities, we are ready to provide full supplies.”

It is known that on the Ho Chi Minh road, from Ben Giang to Lo Xo pass, there are dozens of large and small landslides. Among them, there are many dangerous negative and positive slope landslides, cutting off many sections.

Particularly, the section passing through Lo Xo Pass (Phuoc Nang Commune) had a large landslide that occurred the night before with millions of cubic meters, stretching 300 meters of road surface. The road management unit has mobilized all means to clear the route, striving to clear the route by the morning of October 28, relieving traffic congestion.
