More than 29 million tons of goods passed through Hai Phong ports

According to information from the Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority, in the first 4 months of 2025, the cumulative volume of goods through the Hai Phong seaport system is estimated to reach over 29.3 million tons, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2024.

Goods passing through the port by inland waterways reached over 5.3 million tons, up 15% over the same period. The total number of ships passing through was 12,557, up 19% over the same period in 2024.

The growth results mainly came from the expansion of Lach Huyen port area, with the putting into operation of berths 3 and 4 of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company and berths 5 and 6 of Hateco Group.

As of April 22, Lach Huyen port area has received 384 ships entering and leaving the port, an increase of 23% over the same period. The total volume of goods throughput reached 531,160 TEUs equivalent to 4,582,676 tons, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2024.

At Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, in the first quarter of 2025, the company's net revenue from sales services reached VND361.4 billion, up 21% over the same period last year. The company's net profit from business operations reached more than VND183 billion, up more than 67% over the first quarter of 2024.

In particular, the company's profit after corporate income tax in the first quarter of 2025 reached VND 158.6 billion, an increase of more than 81% over the same period in 2024, due to increased loading and unloading revenue, high-priced orders were transferred from the subsidiary Hoang Dieu Port Company Limited to operate at Chua Ve Port branch, contributing to the increase in revenue.

According to the leaders of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, despite forecasts of many disadvantages in production and business activities, the company still strives to complete the 2025 plan, achieving revenue of VND 2,269 billion and pre-tax profit of VND 967.5 billion.

In the long term, Lach Huyen Port has many advantages for development, with its location at the gateway area forming a combined shipping route from the North to distant routes such as Europe and America. At the same time, this area is also the center attracting many industrial parks that have been and are being formed.

Along with that, the Government is promoting investment in railways connecting the Hai Phong port system, with the entire line from Yunnan expected to start construction in 2025, creating more convenient traffic connections, helping to attract more import and export goods to the Hai Phong port system.
