More than 300 organizations and individuals invested 33,000 billion VND to solidify schools.

(NLDO)- Nearly 36,000 classrooms and more than 1,200 public rooms for teachers have been invested in and upgraded with a budget of nearly 33,000 billion VND from socialization.

The conference to review the socialization of school, classroom and teacher housing consolidation in the 2013-2023 period, tasks and solutions for the coming time was held by the Ministry of Education and Training on October 25 in Hanoi with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long assessed that over the past 10 years, socialization has made an important contribution to the construction of school facilities, especially in disadvantaged, remote and isolated areas. The appearance of many schools has changed significantly, from makeshift classrooms to more solid, safe and comfortable classrooms. Public housing for teachers has also been invested in and built, creating more favorable conditions for teachers to work with peace of mind and dedication.

Over 300 organizations and individuals have participated in investing and upgrading nearly 36,000 classrooms and more than 1,200 public rooms for teachers with a total cost of nearly 33,000 billion VND. The rate of solid classrooms nationwide has increased from 66% to 86.6%.

Emphasizing the achieved results, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long commented that there are still many challenges, and that learning and working conditions for students and teachers in many places are not fully guaranteed.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to continue reviewing, researching and proposing preferential policies to encourage stronger participation of businesses and social organizations in the socialization of education ; focusing on consolidating classrooms, supporting minimum teaching equipment, increasing the number of public housing for teachers, and at the same time, taking into account practical requirements arising in the process of implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.

For the People's Committees of provinces and cities, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long suggested continuing to review and plan the network of preschool, general education and continuing education facilities in the area. Pay attention to construction planning, ensuring suitable land funds to build schools and classrooms, meeting learning needs associated with urbanization trends and population shifts.

At the same time, localities need to ensure budget for education and training, allocate resources to effectively implement sub-projects related to education and training in national target programs. Proactively promote socialization, mobilize investment resources for education and training, prioritize attracting businesses, organizations and individuals to invest in building facilities for schools in disadvantaged areas.

"Education and training is the top national policy. I request businesses, organizations and individuals to join hands to contribute to the cause of education, creating the best learning conditions for our children - the future owners of the country" - Deputy Prime Minister expressed.

Concluding the conference, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that school consolidation, in many ways, not only consolidates schools and classrooms, but also has the effect of "consolidating" goodwill and beauty in the human spirit.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son said he will review policies to promote the socialization of education.

The Minister said the Ministry will continue to advise the Government on building a public investment program aiming at the goal of solidifying 100% of schools by 2030, mobilizing funding from national target programs, other projects and tasks. The Ministry will also review policies to promote the socialization of education to attract more social resources for this.
