Mobilizing people's strength to participate in crime prevention and control

To help people raise their vigilance against sophisticated tricks of criminals, in recent times, Cam Son Ward Police (Cam Pha City) has coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations, and neighborhood Party cells to strengthen propaganda and mobilization forms suitable to the local characteristics.

Typically, the hotline number of the Ward Police on duty is publicly posted and printed on information leaflets distributed to people; the model of "LegalEducation and Dissemination Club" is a forum for members to exchange, learn, exchange legal knowledge, and share experiences in handling situations related to security and order arising in life. In particular, it is necessary to mention the zalo group model established by the Ward Police since the beginning of 2024, helping a large number of people to continuously update their personal phones with official information on warnings and crime prevention. At the same time, through this social networking application, the Ward Police on duty team can receive reports and denunciations from people about security and order incidents 24/7.

In addition to promoting propaganda work, or establishing core forces to perform self-management tasks at the grassroots level..., many residential areas in the province have also implemented a model of installing public security cameras to contribute to maintaining order. For example, in Uong Bi City, this method is being implemented with more than 200 modern cameras, with many devices located in the central area also having artificial intelligence features to recognize faces and license plates. It is worth mentioning that 100% of the cost of purchasing and installing cameras is socialized from voluntary contributions from the people. In addition, there are nearly 3,000 security cameras installed by households, agencies, and organizations, which are also mobilized to share images to support the authorities when incidents arise in the area. This shows the great sympathy of the people with the model; it is also a great determination of the whole city with the goal of building Uong Bi into a civilized, modern city, not allowing the formation of hot spots in the area.

In order to create a widespread influence for the movement, Party committees at all levels, authorities, sectors, agencies and units in the province have focused on appropriate propaganda and mobilization work. Thereby, gradually creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of each cadre, party member and people to proactively participate in building a solid people's security posture from the grassroots. For example, implementing Plan No. 50/KH-UBND (dated February 20, 2024) of the Provincial People's Committee on building "Drug-free communes, wards and towns", functional forces and local authorities and organizations have strengthened mass mobilization work, taking advantage of people's denunciations to attack and suppress crimes, preventing complications from arising. At the same time, continuously maintain the operation of grassroots security models, the models of "Helping and reforming wrongdoers", "Managing and educating youth at risk of breaking the law"... The movement of All People Protecting National Security is closely linked with the campaign of All People Uniting to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas, attracting the attention and positive response of all classes of people.
