The domestic water system in Bai Tam village, Du Sang commune (Kim Boi) provides hygienic domestic water to households in the area.
Comrade Dinh Cong Phung, Deputy Head of the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Kim Boi district, said: To implement the program, the department has advised the district People's Committee to develop an implementation plan and assign specific tasks to each agency and unit. Specialized departments and offices have institutionalized documents and instructions from superiors in accordance with the actual situation of the locality. The allocation of capital sources ensures compliance with principles, criteria, norms, and procedures. Thanks to that, many rural infrastructure works have been invested in, built, and upgraded, gradually meeting the production and living needs of the people.
In the period 2022 - 2024, Kim Boi district was assigned over 159,740 million VND to implement 10 projects under the program. In 2025 alone, the district was allocated 108,509 million VND, of which the capital transferred from 2024 to 2025 is 51,984 million VND, the planned capital assigned in 2025 is 56,525 million VND.
Determined to put the program's resources into practice, Kim Boi District People's Committee has focused on implementing projects to build infrastructure, support production, support job creation, and improve capacity for ethnic minority areas. According to comrade Dinh Cong Phung, determining that production support not only helps people access seeds, capital, science and technology, but also fundamentally changes the mindset of economic development, the district focuses on building and expanding product consumption chains.
From 2022 to present, the district has allocated more than 32,485 million VND to implement Project 3 on developing sustainable agricultural and forestry production, promoting the potential and strengths of regions to produce goods according to the value chain. Up to now, from the capital of the program and other national target programs, the district has successfully built a safe vegetable production and consumption chain in Binh Son and Du Sang communes; a winter potato growing chain for processing in Sao Bay, Xuan Thuy, Vinh Dong communes and Bo town; a seed tree chain in many communes in the district... Revenue from the chains reaches 150 - 300 million VND/ha/crop.
Along with production support, the district has focused on building essential works, contributing to improving people's lives. In 3 years (2022 - 2024), the District People's Committee has allocated over 57,515 million VND of investment capital and over 14,244 million VND of public capital to implement Project 4 on investing in essential infrastructure serving production and life in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Based on actual surveys, the invested works have met the production and living needs of the people.
Being a mountainous area, Bai Tam village, Du Sang commune is always in a state of shortage of domestic water, especially in the dry season. Based on that reality, the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Kim Boi district has implemented a project to build a centralized domestic water tank, including 1 water collection tank at the beginning of the route, a system of intermediate tank clusters (1 rough filter tank, 1 tank with a capacity of 75m3), a main water supply pipeline network and installation of 178 water distribution meter clusters. After completion, it will meet the demand for clean domestic water for nearly 200 households in the hamlet and neighboring areas.
Building centralized and decentralized water supply works is also the content that the Department of Ethnic Affairs and Religion of Kim Boi district focuses on implementing when implementing project 1 on solving the shortage of residential land, housing, production land and water under the program. Up to now, the district has built 17 centralized water supply works and supported more than 300 water tanks for households in the area.
In addition, policies to support ethnic minorities in particular difficulties such as: freight subsidies, price subsidies for essential goods; preferential loans for production development; support for livestock and crop varieties; job conversion... have contributed to improving the lives and production of people, especially poor households.
