According to preliminary screening data of the Screening Team, advising on screening households with housing difficulties in Phu Luong district, currently 13/15 communes and towns in the area have households with housing difficulties and need support, with a total of 115 temporary and dilapidated houses.
Mr. Le Van Quy, Chairman of Phu Luong District People's Council, said that through reviewing households with housing difficulties who need support, the district has a plan to mobilize resources and solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, in order to support the construction and repair of houses for households. This includes households with needs that meet legal conditions on land and households with needs but do not have the ability to respond, the capacity to build new houses, repair houses, newly separated households, households with needs but do not meet legal conditions on land, households that are doing procedures to issue land use right certificates.
Phu Luong district also assigned the district Fatherland Front Committee to advise and issue notices to localities to fully and accurately review households, contributing to ensuring social security in the district, and soon bringing Phu Luong district to meet new rural standards in 2024.
According to the socio -economic report of the People's Committee of Phu Luong district, the locality is a district with many difficulties in Thai Nguyen province. According to statistics in 2023, the whole district has 1,023 poor households and 999 near-poor households; many households have to live in temporary, dilapidated houses that are not safe.
In 2023, Phu Luong district supported the construction of houses for 50 poor households with a total support amount of over 3 billion VND. Although the support amount is not high, it is a source of encouragement and additional funding for households to build spacious houses, demonstrating the community's sharing and support for poor households.
To effectively eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Phu Luong district mobilizes resources from the "For the Poor" Fund, socialized capital contributions from businesses, organizations and individuals. In addition, each eligible household will be able to borrow up to 40 million VND in 15 years; with this loan source, many poor households and ethnic minority households in the district have received support from the Bank to borrow capital to build solid houses, stabilize their lives and have the conditions to escape poverty.
