Receiving and working with the delegation were Comrade Sy Heng - Hom Som Bat, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Khan Xay - Lat Tha Hau, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, along with other members of the Standing Committee of the Salavan Provincial People's Council.

During the talks, the two sides exchanged experiences on the operation of elected bodies, information on the socio-economic development situation of each locality; and reviewed the outstanding results of cooperation in the past period in the fields of politics and diplomacy, defense and security, education and training, health and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides agreed to continue strengthening exchanges of delegations, sharing experiences, expanding cooperation in trade, tourism, education, and investment; and coordinating efforts to improve transportation infrastructure through the Hong Van - Co Tai border gate, facilitating economic development in the border region.

Notably, recently , Hue City has provided 2.1 billion VND in funding for the construction of the exercise command center in Salavan, contributing to enhancing the defense capabilities of the neighboring province. In the field of education , Hue has received and trained more than 1,500 Lao students, including 259 students from Salavan province; currently, 50 students are still studying at training facilities in the city.

Cooperation in the healthcare sector continues to be effectively maintained as Hue Central Hospital and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital have signed a cooperation agreement with the Salavan Provincial Department of Health in medical examination and treatment, personnel training, and referral for treatment, with preferential fees for Lao citizens.

Immediately after the talks, the delegation of the Hue City People's Council paid a courtesy visit to Comrade Pa Dom Phon Son Thany, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Government Committee of Salavan Province, further affirming the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two localities, contributing to strengthening the close solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
