Legend Clint Eastwood reveals why he hasn't retired at 95

At 95, Clint Eastwood is still busy with new film projects. The Hollywood legend believes that age is not a limit for him to stop.

Legendary actor Clint Eastwood celebrated his 95th birthday last weekend. Despite his advanced age and declining health, the veteran star has no plans to retire. In a recent interview with Austrian newspaper Kurier , the 1930-born actor revealed that he is in the pre-production stage of a new project, indirectly denying rumors that Juror #2 (2024) is his last work.

"There's no reason why a man shouldn't get better with age," Clint Eastwood explains. "I have more experience now. There are certainly directors who lose their edge at a certain age, but I'm not one of them," the veteran filmmaker says confidently.

The four-time Oscar winner also shared why he believes he continues to be successful after a career spanning more than 70 years: "I don't repeat myself, I don't always do the same kind of film, I always try something new. A new genre, a different role." He continued: "As an actor, I'm still under contract to a studio, working under the old system and therefore forced to learn something new every year. And that's why I'll work while I can still learn something or until I'm really confused."

The Dollars Trilogy star shared with Kurier the profound experiences of his decades in the industry that made him understand that he can go further with a positive attitude and self-belief. The male artist dislikes the rise of sequels, remakes or franchises and is no longer interested in that genre. The Hollywood legend expressed: "My philosophy is: do something new or stay home."

Over the years, Clint Eastwood's health has declined significantly due to his advancing age. In an interview, actor Phil Biedron (who participated in the film Juror #2 , directed and produced by Eastwood) said that there were at least 3 days when the cast and crew came to the set and were told to temporarily stop working due to Eastwood's health problems, requiring him to see a doctor. In the end, the legendary star still completed the work and the film was released at the end of last year.

In July 2024, Clint Eastwood's partner of 10 years, Christina Sandera, passed away due to a heart attack. This was a great loss for the Unforgiven star. In an interview with People earlier this year, the legendary actor's son revealed that he had overcome the incident and was living well.

In his latest interview with Kurier , Clint Eastwood also confirmed that he is still alive and well. The veteran artist shared: "Physically, I am still healthy so hopefully no one will have to worry about this problem of mine for a long time."
