Ca Mau issues plan to implement National Environmental Protection Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050
The Plan aims to clearly define the tasks, progress, resources and responsibilities of agencies and units, ensuring timely, synchronous and effective implementation; at the same time, mobilizing the participation of all economic sectors in implementing the Plan, closely combining economic development with environmental protection and climate change response.
The Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches, sectors and localities to closely coordinate, ensure feasibility, suitability with practical conditions, and integrate implementation plans with relevant planning, projects and schemes in the area.
Regarding key tasks, the Provincial People's Committee directed the assigned units to develop and update plans for environmental zoning, nature conservation and biodiversity; determine the location, scale, type and waste treatment technology of centralized treatment areas; strengthen environmental monitoring and warning, especially water quality for production. Along with that, the province encourages the development of circular economy, waste recycling, the formation of ecological industrial parks, and green, environmentally friendly economic models. Localities must arrange land funds and capital to build and operate waste collection and treatment systems and public works serving environmental management.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee assigned departments and branches to organize propaganda and dissemination of the contents of the Planning and Implementation Plan, organize conferences, seminars, mid-term and final reviews; at the same time, review, update and adjust projects and development plans in accordance with the orientation of the National Environmental Protection Planning.
Regarding implementation, the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and People's Committees of communes and wards to develop detailed implementation plans before October 30, 2025, and send them to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for synthesis.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is the standing agency responsible for monitoring, inspecting, urging and reporting results periodically every year (before December 15) to the Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time synthesizing them into the report on environmental protection work of the province.
During the implementation process, if there are any difficulties or problems, the units should promptly report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for synthesis and consultation with the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and direction of resolution.
