MICE EXPO 2024 attracted 500 businesses to participate in business connections. During the event, tourism businesses participated in B2B Business Matching promotion activities to discuss products, form large buying groups and sign cooperation contracts; Vietnam MICE Tourism Development Forum organized by Vietnam Tourism Association; survey - product development and combination with VMC Golf Cup 2024.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said that MICE is a type of tourism that combines meetings, seminars, conferences, awards and exhibitions of businesses for their staff, employees and partners.
After the Covid-19 pandemic, MICE tourism has grown strongly, connecting with exploration, relaxation, product creation, promotion, brand promotion and becoming an important type of tourism, positively impacting many other economic sectors.
“Vietnam has many scenic spots, a rich traditional culture, many cultural heritages, and increasingly modern technical facilities for the tourism industry. Vietnam has all the conditions to become a regional and world MICE center,” Mr. Binh assessed.
Regarding the potential for developing MICE tourism in Hanoi, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Hong Minh stated that Hanoi is the leading political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological center of the country. As of September 2024, Hanoi has 3,761 tourist accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms, including hundreds of hotels and apartment buildings recognized as 1-5 stars.
Hanoi's conference and seminar infrastructure system currently has a capacity of about 50,000 seats, capable of serving events of up to several thousand people... "MICE tourism products are considered the strength of the capital's tourism industry. Orienting and focusing on developing MICE tourism is the goal of Hanoi's tourism industry," Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh affirmed.
The organization of MICE EXPO 2024 has created opportunities for tourism businesses and service providers to meet, exchange information, learn about market trends, products, expand joint ventures, partnerships, and sign cooperation contracts in the field of MICE tourism.
The event also created a forum to discuss visions, assess opportunities and challenges to develop MICE tourism in Vietnam in a professional, effective and sustainable direction, associated with the green transformation and digital transformation orientation of Vietnam tourism.
