Connecting Vietnamese-Chinese fruit and agricultural product trade in Guangzhou

Delegates highlighted the important role of the Chinese market in Vietnam's fruit and agricultural product exports, and expressed their desire for the two sides to increase contact, exchange, and trade.

On September 27, on the sidelines of the Guangzhou International Food and Vegetable Fair, the Trade Office of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou hosted the event "Trade between Vietnamese and Chinese fruit and agricultural products (Guangzhou)".

The event attracted nearly 150 delegates representing associations, industries and businesses from Vietnam and China.

“Vietnam-China Fruit and Agricultural Products Business Exchange (Guangzhou)” aims to introduce industry and market information and connect supply and demand for coconuts and coconut products, durian and some other fruits, confectionery, coffee, bird’s nest, rice, processed foods, etc. between Vietnamese associations and enterprises and Chinese associations, trade associations and enterprises in the context that the world’s second largest economy has just opened its market for fresh coconuts and frozen durians from Vietnam.

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Coconut Association Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh led a delegation of Vietnamese coconut and fruit, agricultural and food products businesses to participate in the trade.

On the side of Chinese partners, there were Chairman of Hainan Province Coconut Industry Association Guo Renfeng and Chairman of Jiangnan Guangzhou Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market Import Fruit Association Guan Zhiqiang.

In addition, the event also had the participation of representatives of Vietnamese enterprises and representatives of industry associations, Chinese enterprises in the fields of fruits, agricultural products and food, in which, typical representatives from the Chinese side included: Guangdong Province Food Industry Association, some large corporations and enterprises of Guangdong fruit and food such as Pagoda Group, Kingold Group...

At the trade event, Nguyen Duy Phu, Commercial Consul of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou, Quan Chi Cuong, Chairman of the Imported Fruit Association of Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market (Guangzhou), Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Coconut Association, and Tran Ve Quan, representative of the Hainan Province Coconut Industry Association, gave speeches.

Delegates highlighted the important role of the Chinese market in Vietnam's fruit and agricultural product exports, and expressed their hope that the two sides would increase contact, exchange, and trade to contribute to promoting fruit and agricultural product trade between the two countries.

On this occasion, representatives of Ben Tre Import-Export Corporation (Betrimex) signed a MOU on cooperation in coconut trade with representatives of the Import Fruit Association of Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market in Guangzhou and signed a MOU on cooperation in coconut trade with representatives of the Coconut Industry Association of Hainan Province (China).

In addition, the representative of Hainan Province Coconut Industry Association presented the association's Contact Office sign to the representative of Vietnam Coconut Association.

Associations and businesses from Vietnam and China participating in the trade highly appreciated the Trade Office of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou for organizing a practical, effective and timely business trade meeting, creating an important forum for the parties to cooperate and connect Vietnamese products with strengths and the Chinese market which currently has great demand.
