Phu Quoc aims to be a destination worth visiting and living in the future

According to international media analysis, compared to familiar and overcrowded island destinations such as Bali and Phuket, Phu Quoc has an advantage as it is an emerging destination with beautiful and peaceful nature. Promoting its inherent advantages, Phu Quoc is implementing many policies to attract investment, develop tourism infrastructure, and social infrastructure, so that this place is not only a place worth visiting but also a place worth living and investing in the region and internationally.

In the tourism sector alone, Phu Quoc city has 274 tourism investment projects, accounting for 86% of the total projects of Kien Giang province, with a total investment capital of up to 388,410 billion VND. In the past 5 years alone, with the participation of investors, Phu Quoc owns entertainment, recreation and resort complexes worth thousands of billions of VND that not every locality has.

Typically, the south of Phu Quoc Island owns a 5-star resort complex at Bai Kem, the entertainment complex of Hoang Hon Town and the paradise island of Hon Thom connected to the world's longest 3-wire cable car. International shows continuously land such as The Kiss of the Sea and Ocean Symphony, entertaining visitors with 2 fireworks and water cannon performances every night; bustling entertainment venues, with attractive costs such as Vui Phet night market, Sun Bavaria Bistro restaurant chain and craft beer factory, bars and restaurants by the sea... are increasing the vitality of the destination, making the south of Phu Quoc Island attractive all day and night.

In addition, Phu Quoc focuses on implementing social infrastructure projects, aiming for sustainable development in the future. Recently in November, Phu Quoc launched two public beach projects, Dat Do beach, part of the An Thoi international sea square project and Phu Quoc Sun Hospital. Once put into practice, An Thoi sea square will be the city's new cultural and tourism center, meeting the needs of swimming, entertainment, and organizing international events; Phu Quoc Sun Hospital with health care specialties and modern resort space will be a reliable medical examination and treatment destination for tourists and residents.

Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee said: "Recently, tourists tend to come to Phu Quoc for short-term relaxation, vacation, and entertainment. The city's orientation in the near future will be to attract tourists to come here on a weekly basis, and in the future, it will become a place for foreign experts who are currently living and working in neighboring countries of Vietnam to settle down."

To put these orientations into practice, Phu Quoc City is investing in transport infrastructure, with an international passenger port expected to launch at the end of 2025, and expanding Phu Quoc International Airport. In addition, there are a series of clean water supply, waste and wastewater treatment projects, notably the 18.5ha waste treatment plant in Ham Ninh commune.
