Speaking to the Traffic Newspaper on the way to Hanoi station, Train Chief Le Ngoc Huan said that the train crew (Hanoi Railway Attendants) had just returned belongings left behind by a foreign passenger on train SE6 when they disembarked at Hue station this morning (February 15).
The crew of train SE6 returned belongings left behind by foreign passengers on the train.
Specifically, train SE6 departed from Saigon station on February 14th and arrived at Hue station this morning. After the train left Hue station, at around 5:30 AM, attendant Nguyen Quang Trung in carriage number 3 discovered a passenger had left a blue bag behind at seat 34. Immediately, attendant Trung reported it to the train conductor.
The train conductor and security personnel inspected the bag and documented the incident in the presence of passengers. Inside the bag were $815, 1,920,000 VND, and several important documents such as a passport, foreign-registered bank cards, and other personal items like a mobile phone, eyeglasses, and a phone charger.
Since the passenger was a foreigner and could not be contacted directly, the train crew handed over all the forgotten belongings to the Dong Ha station's passenger service. The station contacted Hue station, informed the passenger when they returned to retrieve their belongings; and simultaneously arranged for a train from the North to Hue station to return the items directly to the passenger.
"These are valuable possessions and documents for foreign passengers, so passengers at Dong Ha station should send them on the earliest train possible. Passengers will definitely be able to retrieve their belongings by noon today," said train conductor Huan.
It is known that during Tet, many people forget their belongings at train stations and on trains. For example, on February 11th (the second day of Tet), the crew of train SE3, led by Train Chief Tran Xuan Tra (Southern Railway Passenger Service Team), returned a leather wallet containing over 9 million VND and documents that a passenger had left behind at Thanh Hoa station.
At Saigon Station, on February 13th (the 4th day of Tet), female passenger NTQA dropped nearly 5 million VND in cash while passing through the control gate to board train SE6, but there was no contact information. Fortunately, the money was found by employee Nguyen Thi Hang, who, after checking the security camera footage at the control gate, located and returned it to Ms. NTQA.
