Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Pham Tat Thang; Party Central Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong.
Also attending were representatives of agencies, departments and branches; veterans, workers, union members, youth and a large number of people.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that the works at the exhibition highlighted images of a dynamic and creative Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibitions “The Great Victory of Spring 1975 with the New Era of Development of the Vietnamese People” and “Pride of a Border Strip” took place from April 27 to May 5, as an activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Party Central Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi said: “The works at this exhibition are all carefully invested, with a lot of passion, closely following the theme, creating new shooting angles, conveying genuine and emotional images.
The works vividly reflect the beauty of the homeland, the country and the Vietnamese people. The exhibition also introduces images depicting the long, steadfast and indomitable struggle of the Southern army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Delegates performed the ribbon cutting ceremony to open the exhibition.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that many works at the exhibition have contributed to spreading examples and peaceful but noble actions, honoring the forces that are day and night firmly maintaining the country's borders, sovereignty , and territorial boundaries.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the exhibition also highlighted images of dynamic and creative Ho Chi Minh City, which has gradually transformed strongly to achieve many important achievements. Especially the projects that have had a profound impact on people's lives, the projects that are symbolic of Ho Chi Minh City's economy and have changed the face of the city.
Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia and delegates visited the exhibition.
The exhibitions “The Great Victory of Spring 1975 with the New Era of Development of the Vietnamese People” and “Pride of a Border Strip” display more than 200 images recreating the long journey of steadfast, indomitable struggle full of sacrifice and hardship of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
The peak was the heroic struggle of the army and people of the South, with the mobilization of great human and material resources of the whole country, carrying out three key strategic blows (the Central Highlands campaign, the Hue - Da Nang campaign and the Ho Chi Minh campaign) to liberate Saigon on April 30, 1975.

The 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising was a complete victory, ending 21 years of resistance against the invading American imperialists. Upholding the heroic tradition, after 50 years of construction, protection and development, the Party Committee and people of Ho Chi Minh City have always been united, dynamic, creative, achieving many great achievements, many bright spots, pioneering with many models and practical solutions in the construction, innovation and development process.
Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City has increasingly affirmed its role as a special urban area - a major center of economy, culture, education, training, science and technology; a hub for international exchange and integration; a pioneering city, ready to join the whole country in entering a new era - an era of growth, development and prosperity of the Vietnamese people.
In addition, the exhibition also displays outstanding and typical works of the 3rd "Proud of a Border Strip" art photography contest organized by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission in coordination with the Central External Relations Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Border Guard Command, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

This is an activity to honor and depict the life, work, activities, and combat training of our army and people who are day and night firmly protecting the borders of the Fatherland, especially in places where many ethnic minorities live, reflecting the glorious 80-year tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.
