On October 11, the qualifying round of region 2 - Nghe An , the 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament officially opened at the Vietnam - Korea football field, Nghe An province with the participation of 11 football teams including: Nghe An Trade Union, People's Public Security Trade Union, Oil and Gas Trade Union, Quang Ngai Trade Union, Quang Nam Trade Union, Phu Yen Trade Union, Binh Dinh Trade Union, Gia Lai Trade Union, Khanh Hoa Trade Union, Quang Nam Water Supply and Drainage, Nam Dinh Trade Union.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh emphasized that the 2024 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament creates a practical and meaningful playground for workers, civil servants, and laborers to participate in physical exercise, contributing to promoting grassroots football activities and developing Vietnamese football.
Over the past years, the Party, the State and the Vietnam Trade Union have devoted many resources to taking care of the material and spiritual life of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers. Trade unions at all levels have focused on implementing many solutions to care for and protect the rights, contributing to ensuring employment, improving the lives, incomes and working conditions of union members and laborers, especially union members and laborers in difficult circumstances, affected by natural disasters and epidemics. Along with taking care of material life, cultural, artistic and sports activities have been organized more. Union members and workers, civil servants and laborers have had the opportunity to participate in cultural activities and sports training. The quality of the movement has been improved, and the spiritual life of workers has gradually improved.
“I believe that the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament will truly become a useful and prestigious playground, a day of solidarity for workers, encouraging the spirit, motivating workers, civil servants and laborers to actively practice to improve their physical fitness, thereby improving labor productivity, promoting the development of units and enterprises, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality and the country. Through this, I hope that Party committees, Party organizations, authorities and enterprises will continue to accompany the Trade Union to take better care of the material and spiritual life of workers, civil servants and laborers so that workers can feel secure in their attachment to their enterprises, their locality where they work, and work with a sense of responsibility, creativity, high productivity and good quality,” said Mr. Phan Van Anh.

Within the framework of the tournament, the Organizing Committee implemented many practical care activities for union members and workers such as health check-ups, consultations, free medicine; gift giving, lucky draws; and entertainment games.
| The 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament has 54 teams participating nationwide. The tournament includes 2 rounds. The regional qualifiers will be held from September to October 2024 in 4 regions: region 1 - Bac Ninh, region 2 - Nghe An, region 3 - Binh Duong and region 4 - Ho Chi Minh City. The 4 best teams in the 4 regional qualifiers will qualify for the national finals, taking place in early November in Hanoi. |
