Many officials and former officials in Thanh Hoa were expelled from the Party.

On November 29, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee announced the results of its review and disciplinary action against six party members who are leaders and former leaders of Quang Xuong district.

Specifically, those disciplined include Mr. Tran Van Cong (former Chairman of the District People's Committee), Nguyen Dinh Du, Ha The Anh (both Vice Chairmen of the District People's Committee), Chu Duc Khuong (Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment), Le Dinh Khoa (Head of the Department of Economy - Infrastructure), and Ma Van Thanh (former Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment).

Among the above mentioned people, Mr. Tran Van Cong, Nguyen Dinh Du, Chu Duc Khuong, Le Dinh Khoa, and Ma Van Thanh were prosecuted for criminal liability for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties".

As for Mr. Ha The Anh, he was prosecuted for criminal liability for the crime of "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences".

Previously, in September 2024, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department's Investigation Security Agency issued a decision to prosecute and execute arrest warrants and search warrants for the residences and workplaces of 5 suspects related to the case of "Abusing positions and powers in performing official duties", including Mr. Tran Van Cong (former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Xuong district).

Next, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department's Investigation Security Agency executed the arrest warrants, search warrants, and temporary detention warrants for Nguyen Dinh Du and Ha The Anh (both Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee of Quang Xuong district, term 2021-2026).

The above defendants were prosecuted and temporarily detained due to their involvement in the case of "Abusing position and power in performing official duties" which is being handled by the Investigation Security Agency of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police.

It is known that the former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Xuong district and the above officials are involved in violations in the unauthorized sale of land that occurred in Quang Chinh commune, Quang Xuong district.
