The Natural History Exhibition Room was invested and built on the land granted by Hue city to the Vietnam Center for Natural Resources Conservation and Animal and Plant Rescue located in Phong Dien ward (former Phong My commune). The initial area is 17.5 hectares, phase 1 has been deployed and put into operation with an area of ​​about 16.8 hectares; phase 2 is planned to expand with an area of ​​158.2 hectares.

The Natural History Gallery is arranged into 9 exhibition areas: History of life on earth, minerals, insect specimens, plants, animals, large reptiles, birds, marine life and anthropology. This is not only a place to display specimens, but can be seen as a "living book" about the history of the development of the earth, where the evolutionary process of life is vividly recreated through fossils, minerals, animals, plants and marine life.

With a scientific, lively and high-standard display design, this will be an important place for education and training, an ideal place for students to explore and learn about biodiversity and natural history of Vietnam. Thereby contributing to raising awareness of nature conservation, biodiversity and sustainable environmental protection.

Considered a "living book" of history, the Natural History Gallery will be a place to preserve, research, educate, and experience for the community and visitors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that the construction and operation of the Natural History Exhibition Room is an important milestone in the journey of scientific research and nature conservation of the Vietnam Museum of Nature in the Central region and Hue City. This is the result of promoting the value of major programs of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology such as the Central Highlands Program, the National Collection of Specimens of Vietnam Nature Project and other scientific tasks at all levels. This is also one of the results of the regular and effective cooperation between Hue City People's Committee and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in recent times in research, conservation, development and application of science and technology.

The gallery promises to be an interesting place to visit, contributing to diversifying tourism products of Hue city. In addition to the heritages of the ancient capital, visitors also have a new, attractive destination to explore the development process of the natural history of the world and Vietnam, contributing to clarifying the position of Hue - the center of culture, tourism, science and technology of the whole country.
