DNVN - At a meeting with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in the United States, General Secretary andPresident To Lam emphasized the importance of international connection and cooperation to promote important steps forward, helping Vietnam soon achieve major goals.

Connecting knowledge, experience and resources

Within the framework of the High-level Week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, on September 23, General Secretary and President To Lam met with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in the United States. This was one of the important occasions to exchange and discuss the role of the network in supporting the development of science and technology in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Innovation Network was established by the National Innovation Center under the Ministry of Planning and Investment . The main objective of the network is to connect leading experts in the fields of science and technology with the practical needs of Vietnam, while attracting and effectively utilizing the intellectual resources of the overseas Vietnamese community to serve the socio-economic development of the country. Currently, this network has expanded its operations to both the East and West coasts of the United States, attracting the participation of many talents in important fields such as technology, finance, law and management.

At the meeting, the representative of the Vietnam Innovation Network in the United States reported on the achievements, attracting the participation of thousands of businesses in the network's activities. Not only contributing to technology transfer, some members have brought their company headquarters to Vietnam, creating many job opportunities and bringing significant economic value.

General Secretary and President To Lam chaired a meeting with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in the United States.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his joy at attending and listening to the contributions from the community of experts, intellectuals, and members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in the United States. This is an opportunity to review the achievements and discuss the upcoming orientation and goals in connecting knowledge, experience, and resources between Vietnam and the Vietnamese expert community in the United States, with the goal of promoting the development of high technology and innovation in the country.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that Vietnam is facing a historic moment, an era of strong growth. This is a strategic period, a sprint period to achieve major goals such as 100 years under the leadership of the Party and 100 years of the country's founding. The 4th industrial revolution and the development of cyberspace are opening up opportunities for countries, even underdeveloped ones, to take shortcuts, rise to become great powers or be left behind if they do not seize the opportunity.

The General Secretary and President also highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in developing the Vietnam Innovation Network. In particular, the active participation of the Vietnamese expert community in the United States has made important contributions to national programs. These efforts help improve science, technology and innovation capacity, expand Vietnam's knowledge resources in the world, and contribute to the country's sustainable development.

Human resource development and technology transfer

In the coming time, this network is expected to promote startup support activities, build a community of sharing and mutual cooperation between businesses, with the goal of contributing more to the development of the startup ecosystem in Vietnam. One of the key areas that the Vietnam Innovation Network is focusing on is developing the semiconductor industry - a key area to help Vietnam participate deeply in the global value chain.

According to experts from the network, Vietnam needs to focus on investing in human resource development, especially high-quality human resources in technology fields. Increasing foreign investment attraction, especially in research and development projects, is one of the important solutions to improve the country's competitiveness. To do this, it is necessary to organize more specialized seminars to attract leading experts and international investors, thereby promoting the development of the semiconductor industry and other high-tech fields.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that after Vietnam and the United States upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two countries agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of semiconductors, artificial intelligence and human resource training. These are areas that promise to bring major breakthroughs in Vietnam's economic and scientific and technological development.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that Vietnam needs to focus on building high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of the digital economy and the green transformation process, based on the foundation of innovation.

According to General Secretary and President To Lam, the extensive participation of the Vietnamese expert and intellectual community around the world not only contributes to solving technical and technological challenges, but also opens up opportunities for cooperation in science, technology and innovation with the world's leading partners.

In addition, the Vietnam Innovation Network needs to develop stronger international links, share knowledge, and apply advanced technological advances to support the country's development process. At the same time, the network needs to promote its role as a bridge of knowledge and technology, bringing the world's achievements and quintessence to Vietnam.

The General Secretary and President believes that close coordination between domestic and foreign agencies will create a combined strength, the key to achieving breakthrough goals, bringing Vietnam to strong development based on the foundation of high technology and innovation in the new era.
