My Thuy intersection is an important connection point on the Dong Van Cong - Vo Chi Cong - Nguyen Thi Dinh axis. This is the gateway to Cat Lai port with the largest cargo volume in the country, often seriously congested and a 'black spot' for traffic accidents.

In 2016, Ho Chi Minh City started the My Thuy intersection project with a total investment of 3,450 billion VND, divided into 2 component project packages.

In which, the construction project has a total investment of 1,826 billion VND divided into 3 investment phases (in which the items of phase 3 have a total investment of 312 billion VND).

The compensation, site clearance and resettlement project has a total investment of 1,623 billion VND, invested by the Thu Duc City Construction Investment Project Management Board.

According to Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, up to now, the project has completed a number of items in phase 1 and 2, put into operation from 2019 to 2021 including: Ky Ha 3 Bridge (left branch); left-turn underpass from Ring Road 2 to Cat Lai Port; overpass on Ring Road 2 (left branch); My Thuy 3 Bridge.

From the end of 2023, the unit will also start construction of items such as the left-turn overpass from Cat Lai to Phu My and Ky Ha 4 bridge. However, the project progress is still facing many difficulties due to the incomplete site clearance work.

According to the Traffic Department, the total land area used for the project, compensation, support and resettlement is 16.6 hectares, with 195 households subject to land handover. However, by the end of January 2025, Thu Duc City had only handed over 9/195 cases, affecting the overall progress.
